  1. On checking the bulbs I noticed that 2 holders have corroded to such an extent that the sprung contact prongs have corroded and snapped. I don't want to buy a new loom for £250, so can anyone tell me if i can find the holders from somewhere as until I do I can't use the car!! Thanks for your help. Gary
  2. Does anybody know how to remove the knob as I have a new knob and gaiter I'd like to replace the old set with. I tried pulling until i was blue in the face! Not a big deal but Id like to know if anyone has the time to tell me . Thanks in advance.
  3. Is it possible to remove the gear selector knob from the leather gaiter? I have the unit off the car but can't seem to work out what part to twist to release the knob from the gaiter. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  4. Hii Loren, Thanks for that. What type of socket to use in the splined nut?
  5. All the tools were ready and the airbag / horn unit removed. Now I am confronted with a splined nut thing. Could somebody let me know what tool to get please... Many thanks in advance.
  6. Related, but this concernes the inner door handle micro switch. The window will nort lower when the inner handle is pulled, the outer door handle switch works as it should. According to my opc, the sworn needs adjustment as it seems to be a common fault. I'd appreciate knowing what to do when the door card is off, following the latest Paulspeeds DIY tutorial... Thanks !
  7. Hi, Here is an update, just in case anyone else has the same problem. in shorting the bulb, it must've blown the micro switch. Replaced the switch and bulb holder loom and all is now working. Thanks for the tips.
  8. Hi Paul, Many thanks for your reply. I have looked for the current distributor (11) that is nicely displayed on the + ve cable from the battery in the schematic. The lead dissapears into the bulkhead.... Luck is certainly what is needed!

  10. I have done exactly the same thing. I will also look at the micro switch if somebody can let me know how to dismantle the glove compartment.
  11. Yes, naturally I can see the red arrow, but it is pointing at the top of the dashboard..... Do you know where it is? I would be really grateful.
  12. Thanks for the fast response! Where is the current distributor panel?
