  1. Also had a small rattle where plastic cover on console joins shift cover assembly - fixed with felt tape by dealership. With suspension as stiff as these cars have, you know there will be vibration so I guess if you want a silent ride you buy the Panamera or a Lexus.
  2. Take the cigarette lighter out of the console. My noise sounded like it was coming from higher but that was it - problem solved.
  3. Problem solved ! Eureka ! It was the cigarette lighter in the console - the filament was rattling. Just pulled it out and will replace with a 12V plastic plug and Bob's your uncle. Drove it home on bumpy pavement and not a sound. Thank you Porsche Centre Victoria for your diligence.
  4. Thanks Stronbl. I will pass this idea along to the techs if we still have no luck after checking the speaker. Just got back from the dealer with a 2012 Cayenne loaner. What a monster ! But comfy. Will hold all my hockey gear nicely as I play today. Saw the new Boxster there as well. Certainly some solid improvements - looks a bit Carrera GT ish from the front. Back end much better.
  5. Removed the chrono today and unfortunately, it's not the clock as it rattles when driven with it removed. So next we'll try the small speaker in the dash in front of the clock mounting. The dealer is very responsive and eager to fix this but it takes so much freaking time to keep toing and froing on this. I love this car for so many reasons, but with an irritating rattle since new, it ain't what they advertise it to be and believe me, they will fix it or they will give me another C4S. I will be diplomatic but I will NOT go away until it is resolved. I have written to Porsche corporate already so they must be aware. Persistence after all is the key to success in almost everything. Wish me luck and hopefully it gets resolved soon.
  6. My 2011C4S has this problem as well. It sounds like a buzzing kind of rattle as you say like paperclips in a cup or maybe a toaster element being shaken - when on coarse road surfaces it's incessant. Drives me nuts. I have been thinking it's my chrono clock but sounds like you don't have one of these. These things are often hard to pinpoint but I am determined to have this fixed as a vehicle of this quality and price should not have such an issue - and certainly not an issue that can't be remediated.
  7. My 2011 C4S has sport chrono option with clock and ever since day one there has been a buzzy kind of rattle that comes from the dash that sounds like a loose fitting or somethin inside the clock. This noise is especially bad on coarse road surfaces where it buzzes constantly. It drives me crazy. I've had two different dealers look into it - they do things like add felt inside the dash etc. but it has not solved the problem and in fact it has gotten worse lately. Has anyone else had this issue or are there any ideas out there ? As with most dash rattles it may be hard to pionpoint but I am now convinced it's the clock as it comes directly from there. I don't even use the **** thing and would be happy to swap it out for a hard wired radar detector or something useful. Ideas / comments anyone ??
  8. Thinking I might have a matching Carrera white vinyl strip made to cover the reflector strip that runs between the taillights. I can have letters "C4S" cut into the strip at the midpoint so that is visible in the red reflector colour - not a big fan of the red strip running across the back. Current backend photo is appended - any comments/ideas ?
  9. Rebadged my 2011 C4S to a simple 911 using factory order badge. Was quite easy - came on template so just had to center, level and apply. I prefer a simple badge over the cluttered look of Carrera 4 S.
  10. Looks much better than some of the earlier "spyshots" with the essential design elements still all 911. The back end will take some getting used to. I would definitely rebadge and leave out the P O R S C H E lettering. I like a simple 911 or in this case 991. The new console is excellent - my Panamera 4 had that new cockpit feel and was great. Still haven't finished breaking in my C4S but had it out on a windy country road again today and am still smiling two hours later.
  11. New 911 (901) looks Cayman like to me - personally don't like it a lot at first blush. Glad I bought my 997.2 couple weeks ago.
  12. A certified Porsche should come with warranty I believe. How many miles on it ?
