  1. I did the exchange last a few weeks back. Did not want to be without my car for too long. I know Darin is very busy right now. It took almost 6 weeks after my original order to receive them. BTW...LOVE THEM!
  2. Personally don't like the LED's. Not too bad on a tail light but I wouldn't mess with the headlights (best part of the 996!).
  3. I have been driving alot in the past month or so and we have been +105 almost every day. I have not noticed a change in my temp. Always sits on the left side of the "0" in 180. I had questions about the right oil so called my Indy who used Mobil 1 15W 50 on my last oil change. Owned the car less than a year so I am not sure what was in there before.
  4. I went online last week (Thursday, 5/17) and ordered the Fister D Exhaust under the exchange program. I got the confirmation email that said someone would be in touch very soon. No word yet. How long did it take you to hear back from them?
  5. Today I backed my car (MY03, 52K miles) out of the driveway and when turning the steering wheel noticed for the first time a significant amount of "wobble" as if the wheel is moving vertically up and down as I am turning it. Otherwise, the car ran fine, no noticible change in the quality of the drive. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance
  6. Just looked at the DIY on the gbox oil. Looks like I will be heading to my Indy since I am not that mechanically inclined! A dipstick would have been nice! Thanks again!
  7. Logray...not sure about the gbox oil. Only had the car for 3K miles (51K total). I will check that this afternoon and get back to you. Thanks as usual!
  8. I have read here about a test to see if your clutch needs replacing. Basically involves getting the car moving in 2nd or 3rd. Can anyone expand on this for me? What exactly do I look/listen for? All seems fine, except when shifting from 2nd-3rd the stick seems to engage all by itself (very little pressure on my part to put it in 3rd), but this only happens when driven cold. After a few miles it is fine. It almost feels like it is slipping from 2nd-3rd. Is this a clutch issue or a transmission issue? Thanks in advance.
  9. My problem was with the speaker box. I had a new sound system installed and they missed tightening the screws on the sub in the passenger door.
  10. rasank...thanks! My clutch only has a short life left so I am planning on doing what you did. Have a great Christmas/New Years!
  11. rasank...can I ask what your indy charged for the clutch, IMS and RMS? Thanks.
  12. Of course, the cutout in the dash had to be modified to fit the new deck, but the AC controls and new pocket fit easily in the slots where the old CD holders and stereo were. The wiring just followed. Note that the AC controls are at the lowest point on the dash since that component is not as wide (and the dash narrows at the bottom). I decided this would minimize the customization and keep things as "natural" looking as possilble. Since the pocket could be any size I wanted, that wasn't an issue. As noted, when adding the new deck the existing subs would not work with the new unit due to the fiber optic connections of an 03 996, so I had to add a separate amp to run the subs. This added about $1000 to the project. The acutal nav system is mounted under the passenger seat and the new amp is mounted in the boot. Except for the subs, I did add all new speakers but kept the original speaker grilles to maintain the original look of the car. It all looks and sounds great, plus, since I have a 6-spd, the audio is so much easier to operate now that it is not behind the stick.
  13. AOS was fine. Just replaced the lower hose to the AOS. $275 at my Indy.
