  1. The PCM3 on my '09 GTS has been killing me. I have been late for 3 appointments because it kept leading me to streets in wrong districts of Boston. First of all, the database does not contain district names such as Dorchester. Instead, I have to enter Boston and pick from zip codes if certain streets exist in more than one district, or enter the zip codes directly. However, it seems that the PCM3 does not give a crap about my input, but picks the zip code that it likes. If you live in Boston area, try searching for 90 Harvard Ave, Allston, MA 02134. You will end up at 90 Harvard Ave, Dorchester, MA 02121, which is about 20 minutes away. You can also look up 500 Washington St, Dorchester (enter "Boston" instead), MA 02124. It will bring you to 500 Washington St, Boston, MA 02111 instead, no matter which zip code you pick from the list. Is there an upgrade that can solve this? On the other hand, PCM3 gives too much weight towards big streets and tends to ignore small alleys which are always much faster than the former. Is there any way to adjust it? Thanks!
  2. It doesn't support charging for 2nd Gen iPod Touch or iPhone 3G. Just so you know.
  3. I would like to change the cornering flashers to bllue. What kind of bulbs should I get for an '09 GTS?
  4. My '05 V6 had a similar problem. During any slightly-more-than-gentle-but-not-harsh acceleration, the RPM shot to the roof, while the transmission would not up-shift. Even at high RPM (red line) and 3rd gear, for example, the speed would not exceed 20MPH. Usually that ended up in a "bang" which shook the entire vehicle as if it hit a wall, and then everything went back to normal. However, if the bang didn't occur, the gear would get stuck, even if the vehicle was parked and the engine was turned off. If you check out my attachment, you will notice that the vehicle was at 3rd gear when the engine was off, and it started at the 3rd gear, which I felt like it was really at the 1st gear, as it would not go over 20MPH even the RPM constantly hitting close to the red line. Ultimately, it also needed an automatic "bang" to bring itself back to normal state. The dealer couldn't get a code, and couldn't duplicate the problem, but they replaced the entire transmission after I showed them 3 video clips of different occurrences, and that solved the problem completely. On the other hand, I was surprised that I was able to duplicate the problem on a '04 Cayenne S loaner that the dealer lent to me during the repair. I think it may not be uncommon. ps. It first happened when switching down gears manually, but later problems occurred any time the vehicle as accelerated slightly faster, and it would not up or down shift even with Tip Tronic.
  5. For a while Porsche was distributing these via PDF - they stopped that last year. Try and see if your dealer can get you a PDF copy - I doubt it but it's worth a try. I will see, and I will send you a copy if that's possible. Thanks.
  6. Having driven the new pepper for almost 3 months now, aside from all the fun it brought, the PCM3 bugs me a lot lately. It started about 3 weeks ago. After driving for about 20 minutes while navigating and playing a MP3 DVD, the PCM3 screen went black, and a second later, the Porsche logo showed up, just like when it was just switched on. The screen at center of the center dial refreshed too. After the PCM3 completed the boot cycle, it started by playing previously played songs (1 to 3 songs back). The destination set in the navi was still in effect, and the route was recalculated. About 15 to 20 minutes later, PCM3 did the same thing again, and it repeated for 3 more times. Each was 15 to 20 minutes driving time apart. The reason why I said "driving time" was because restarting the vehicle could not solve the problem. In fact, the vehicle was turned off once for at least 10 minutes before the engine was started again, but the last two reboot cycles occurred after the restart of the vehicle (yes, the key was pulled out for ten minutes). The above was the first night the issue appeared. However, it went away for about 2 weeks, and came back to haunt me once last week, and that time, both the navi and the music was off. I thought it would be rather rare, but after it happened twice today, I realized it could be more serious than I imagined. Has anyone here experienced the same or similar issue? If so, what did your dealers have to say? Please share, as I was the first one to report it to my dealer who had no idea what may had caused it.
  7. I would like to know when a PDF version will be available for download. Thanks!
  8. I am trying to move the V1 from my '05 v6 to the '09 GTS. I didn't have much luck hardwiring it through Homelink. I know couple of members here have successfully done it through the fuse box instead. Could anyone provide some details on the wiring please? Thanks :).
  9. I didn't seem to be able to remove the clear lens in an '09 GTS. Any tips?
  10. I have the Bluetooth phone only. I wonder why people only call me when it's connecting to the phone; as a result, neither the phone nor the phone interface works. Oh well. :P
  11. Finally picked up my new GTS yesterday! What a beautiful car! I'm just wondering how the Sim card slot works. I plugged in my sim card, but it didn't seem to do anything. Anyone who has any insight please do share your tips. Thanks!
  12. Finally bought a white GTS today! Looks like the audio interface includes a USB port which can be connected to any iPhone through a regular iPhone cable. Can't wait to pick the baby up on Saturday!
  13. I'm just wondering if the universal audio interface in the new Cayenne GTS charges iPhone 3Gs or if it charges at all. Thanks!
  14. At least they didn't mark 3x the MSRP up like on a yellow Ferrari Enzo.
  15. 7th gear *is* available in manual mode.............I know.....I drove 45 miles in manual mode...in 7th gear on the way home tonight. My goal coming home was to see just how good the gas mileage was that could be achieve; you know....in case gas goes back to $5.00/gallon! I averaged 30.5 mpg on the commute. Not bad for a Carerra! Insane!
  16. I just had a dealer replaced the transmission on my Cayenne. The gear occasionally locked at 2nd while the display told me it was on the 3rd or 4th. It didn't make sense since the car would only go as fast as 20 MPH while the engine revved to the red line. The computer would not even record a code. I managed to take some videos and got the job done. I drove a 05 Cayenne S couple of months ago. A similar problem happened to me once, while the transmission was on automatic shift, and I accelerated it pretty good from about 30 MPH. I heard the gear "de-clutched" and the engine was revving when the vehicle was losing power and speed. Then a big "bang" from the bottom up. It was like the car was gonna blow up. In fact, that was the original symptom on the Cayenne V6. Now I see this and start to wonder if this problem commonly exists across all Porsche models. Here are some of the videos I mentioned earlier. http://signage.pro/client_dl/1.mpg http://signage.pro/client_dl/2.mpg http://signage.pro/client_dl/3.mpg http://signage.pro/client_dl/4.mpg
  17. Thanks for the part numbers. I just received the items yesterday. Thanks for Sunset Porsche too. Now, as expected... How do I install the dash cover? It has two screws which can be exposed when the AC gate (or whatever you might call it) at the center console is deattached. I think the question is really how to remove the AC gate.
  18. Part numbers are needed for the following parts on 05 v6 1. Mesh cover - please see the attached pic. 2. Pen holder - the pen holder in the glove compartment is broken. Please provide instructions to replace it too. Thanks.
  19. there are two red wires, make sure you test it before putting the console back.
