  1. My rear wiper does not operate in the intermittent mode, i.e. push the wiper stalk back one click. The wiper works fine when you push the stalk all the way back to wash the rear windshield. Any thoughts? I figured it could be the wiper stalk electrical connections, but I’ve yet to pull it apart to check. Thx, stu
  2. I have a 05 CTT, 80K miles. For the last 6 months I’ve had a front end knock when going over a bump and/or turning the wheel side to side vigorously. I've changed the upper and lower control arm bushing and it made no difference. I’ve had it up on the lift and I cannot find any play in the wheels. When it knocks I cannot feel though the steering wheel, I can only hear it. It makes no difference what height I set the suspension at. Anyone have a similar issue? Cheers, stu
  3. I replaced fuse 12 (5A) and it blew again, I'm going to see what is on that circuit. At only 5A i'm sure its not running the pump....may be its the relay that operates the pump.
  4. Now the codes are: P0418Secondary Air Injection System Control A Circuit - No signal/communication, test conditions are not-completed, fault is currently active and causing a DTC light P2307Secondary Air Injection System Control "B" Circuit - Value below lower limit value, test conditions are not-completed, fault is currently active and causing a DTC light P0419Secondary Air Injection System Control "B" Circuit - No signal/communication, test conditions are not-completed, fault is not currently active and is not causing a DTC light After a little investigation, I found that #11 fuse had blown (5A) and was causing the CEL. Stu
  5. Durametric just gave me a link to their 6.3.2.4 beta software.....I'll let you know how it goes.
  6. Just checked both air pumps on the bench and they are working fine (no damaged fins). Does anyone know when they are supposed to be running? I started up the car and immediately checked them, they were NOT spinning. Thx, stu PS, I cleared the fault and it came straight back, P0109 and P0309
  7. I have a 2005 Turbo and its's just thrown the following durametric codes: Secondary Air Injection System Control A Circuit - Value below lower limit value, test conditions are not-completed, fault is currently active and is not causing a DTC light Secondary Air Injection System Control "B" Circuit - Value below lower limit value, test conditions are not-completed, fault is currently active and causing a DTC light Secondary Air Injection System Control A Circuit - No signal/communication, test conditions are not-completed, fault is not currently active and causing a DTC light Secondary Air Injection System Control "B" Circuit - No signal/communication, test conditions are not-completed, fault is not currently active and is not causing a DTC light I cannot find a reference to them in my repair manual, any idea what's causing this? Thx, Stu
  8. I'm also looking to replace the siren, my workshop manual explains how to remove the siren but not how to remove the fuse box (section: 97 90 19 Removing andinstalling relay carrier). Can someone explain how you remove the fuse box/relay carrier. Thx, Stu
  9. Does anyone know how to move the fuse/relay box out of the way and get to the siren? Thx, Stu
  10. I have the same problem with my alarm siren. I bought a new siren and tried to figure out how to remove the relay carrier, my service manual does not have the procedure for removing this (97 90 19 Removing and Installing relay carrier) Any tips on removing the relay carrier? Thx, Stu
  11. Finally got around to fixing the speaker: I found the part number of the speaker and tried to source it direct from Germany, the manufacturer’s min order qty was 1000pcs (and no US distributor). I found a seller on a Touareg forum offering the exact speaker, for $90 (a $2 speaker). The speaker is 32ohm, I sourced a similar speaker on ebay for $3. It was 2mm smaller in dia so it did not snap into the back of the cluster perfectly; I used a little JB weld to hold it in place. I cut the wires and connector off the old speaker and soldered them to the new one (the clear/white speaker is the failed unit). The toughest part of the job was getting the cluster out. FYI, the cheapest turbo cluster I found was $1700. Hope this helps someone, Thx, Stu PS, the sound and volume are perfect.
  12. Found the problem. The fuel line in the tank was cracked at the elbow quick disconnect. Cut back the tube and re-crimped the elbow, now the system holds pressure and starts with ease Thanks for the help, stu
