  1. Thanks for all the help. My scanner is a cheapie from Pep-Boys, but it usually clears codes. I have used it on my Dodge and my wife's Buick. The shop did come to my house to pick the car up today and they are looking into it. They looked at it this afternoon, and they didn't find anything obvious, but I was told they have a diagnostic "tree" they have to follow, so they will continue on it tomorrow. I was hoping it would be something obvious to them, but it was apparently not.
  2. Thanks for the input. I'm going to let the shop handle it, but I'll mention vacuum leaks to them. Does it make sense that my scanner won't erase the CEL code?
  3. Hello, I just picked up my 2001 996 C2 today after being in the shop for about 3 weeks. It was brought to a well-known independent shop in the New Orleans area where I live. It was initally brought in for a CEL that indicated vario-cam issues on one of the banks. (Sorry, don't remember the code) They ended up replacing the cam actuator, which required dropping the engine. Since they were going that far, I had them replace the IMS (with LN Egineering), the RMS and the AOS. On the way back to my house (20 miles), the CEL came on again. Now it is indicating P1130. I have an ODB2 scanner, so I tried to reset the CEL, but it won't clear. My scanner tries to erase, but it comes right back as "1 Code" active. It doesn't even clear for a second, even with the engine off (key in On position). Any ideas on what this could be? Does it make sense that the code won't clear, even when the engine is not running? Thanks for the help.
