I have a '14 Cayenne GTS that I recently picked up. Here's my first scenario: when I need to defrost the front interior window, I hit the 'defrost' button and it immediately starts to blow air on my front window. Regardless what the temp is set at, it blows pretty hard and hot and it shows that the 'sync' button is on as well as the 'AC' is on too. Even if the temp was last set at "Lo" and the AC turns on, it blows really hot air. Is this normal?? I have a situation, separate from the defrost scenario, when I just want to blow some hot air into the cabin. (It may be cold outside and want to heat the interior.) I turn on the air toggle, adjust the temp to 74 degrees (hit 'sync' to have both sides in-sync) but I rarely get warm air to blow. (It will blow hard but not at the set temp.) Even when the car is warmed up and driving. I'll adjust the temp to 80 degrees, and it gets just a tad warmer but not very warm at all. Anyone have an idea what is going on? What's really crazy about all this is apparently I don't have any hot air issue when I turn the defrost function on only when I turn the heat on in the cabin.

Anyone care to recommend the same information for rain wipers (front & rear) for 2014 Cayenne GTS? I'm even open to hearing about any other good brands. (Links are encouraged.)

Super happy to join this forum as a new 2014 C GTS owner after having been a 2008 CTT owner for many years. (Picked up a great deal with some very low mileage- see foto below) I have a couple quick questions if anyone cares to help me out: 1) I have the Sport Chromo analog clock on the dashboard. I have noticed that when I get into the car in the morning and turn on the SUV for the first time, I notice that the hour/minute hands start to spin and ultimately stop on the correct time. Is this a normal feature of the clock?? (Since the clock does keep the correct time, I'm not sure whether I should care but I do find a bit odd...) 2) I have the inflatable spare in the back. I was just taking a closer look at all the supplies next to the tire and noticed a space that appears to be missing something (right below the wheel lock and under the velcro strap.) I took a photo to show what I'm talking about. Is there something missing in this photo? If so, can anyone tell me what it is? (Or take a photo of their parts) You can see the air compressor is located below. Lastly, when I had my CTT there was a thread on this forum that contained a bunch of really cool little tricks/hidden features about the CTT that you could only find if you read the owners manual page by page. Is there something similar for the Cayenne GTS? Happy driving everyone!

Bringing this thread back to life: I'm currently experiencing very wet driver/passenger floors with my 08 CTT. I am going to suspect it's an AC draining issue but wanted to add a story: when the AC is on or not and I'm driving down one of those curved freeway onramps, there is a stream of water that just pours out on my accelerator foot from the center console, as I'm taking the right hand turn. This just cannot be normal. Today, I noticed that both driver and passenger floors (under the mats) are soaked. I did take a 175 mile trip yesterday with the AC on but didn't take a lot of onramps.... Also, can anyone exactly point where the drain plugs are actually located? Can anyone post a picture or diagram? Does the car need to be up on a rack to reach them? My CTT is kept in a garage and I'm trying to understand if plugged drain lines are actually a problem. (I actually had my dealer do it about 1 1/2 years ago.)

so far the consensus seems to be the drive shaft bearing. Is this a pretty straight forward fix? I'm gonna hope to get into my local shop on Monday. What do parts run approx? much appreciated guys!!

I have a 08 CTT with 58K miles. About a 4-6 weeks ago I was accelerating up an on-ramp to the freeway and heard a slight thumping sound originating from the rear. Couldn't exactly tell where it was coming from but it made me wonder is that a problem brewing? For the past month or so, I'd been driving it normally and didn't necessarily hear it again. Just this past Friday, I was again getting on the freeway and needed to quickly accelerate in order to get around a slow moving car. At this point, I hear a massive THUMP towards the rear and suddenly I hear all sorts of crazy sounds flying/flapping around under my center arm console. (I literally looked in my center console to see what was going on) The car still drove but it scared the crap out of me so I just slowed down carefully and was able to drive home (which was about a mile away) and haven't driven it since. I started to look around this forum and the one thing I think it could be is the drive shaft. Since I'm not mechanically inclined whatsoever, I could use some more help (one of the reasons I love this forum!!) What else could it be? As I was driving home the car shifted normally and no lights appeared on the dashboard. I looked under the car and couldn't really see anything. I have called a local p-car mechanic and left a message to try and get in tomorrow. Since the car still drives (now accompanied by a bunch of very crazy flapping and slapping sounds) and the mechanic is about a mile away, could I just gingerly drive it in to him? More often, fuel pumps fail without any warning or noise, which is why I suggested trying to confirm the sound's source. In the end, it may not be coming from the fuel pump. This is helpful. I will continue to explore where the noise is coming from. The hunt continues!

Good suggestions. Okay, let's just assume it's a bad fuel pump (I realize I don't know for sure,) am I driving on borrowed time and does this typically happen where the fuel pump starts to give off a consistent whine before it shuts down? again, it is so faint someone else may not recognize it, but as I drive it daily, I know the sounds inside my car.....

I have a '08 CTT. I have had experience with bad fuel pumps. I had a failed fuel pump (driver side, under rear seat) replaced at 40,600 miles. (When it happened, the car barely got moving trying to accelerate after a red light.) I'm at 57,000 miles now and just today when I got into the car and turned it on, I hear a noticeable but very faint din/whine. I am having trouble trying to locate where it's coming from but it may be coming from the fuel pump that was replaced previously. The car drives and idles normal. No warning lights on the dashboard. So my question, could this be another fuel pump going bad? If so, how long before it craps out? What/where else should can I check to determine if the noise may not be the fuel pump? Any suggestions, insights and experience are welcome! Thanks so much for your help.

I just actually just posted a similar issue "a mystery leak". I also have the 4 zone air conditioning option (08 CTT) but I have never seen it 'leak' like this before in all the years I've had my car. Thats why I was perplexed. I originally thought it was some sort of ac drain issue but then I couldn't figure out why I only saw it next to the driver's side rear wheel. In fact, I actually never ANY condensation under my CTT so that's why it was odd to see it a couple times now- only in the rear. (And I'm starting to see a bit of a stain on the concrete too.) While one of the other posts mentions a fuel pump/flange leak, the one thing I don't have is the smell of gasoline. Therefore, I am starting to think it has to be something else....

Recently, I have noticed when I pull out my 08 CTT (51K miles) from my garage that there's sometimes (actually only seen it a couple of times) a small little puddle of something right under my drivers side, rear axle (right inside of rear tire) I was thinking it was water since it was actually gone by the time I come back to park my car in the garage. Now I noticed that there's actually some sort of stain starting to form on the concrete. And I don't smell ANYTHING. I just read another post about a leaking fuel pump flange/filter however most everyone on that thread talked about smelling gas in the garage or in their cayenne. I don't smell anything, anywhere! I even went ahead and lifted my rear seat, pulled the circle of carpet to locate the lid for the fuel pump and stuck my nose around it and noticed nothing. I would think if I smelled gasoline it would be what others have mentioned as the fuel pump/flange. Any clues or other suggestions? Appreciate the help.

this update is way overdue: went back to my repair shop and discussed alternatives. Decided to swap Porsche OEM discs for Bosch. What a huge difference!! The squeal is entirely gone. The performance is solid. And a bonus- not much brake dust at all. I'm a totally believer in Bosch brakes now. Had I known then what I know now......

quick update: They are Porsche OEM pads. While I didn't do exactly what 'clarksongli' suggested I did something close enough. I have noticed a dramatic improvement when the car has been driven a bit and warmed up. However, there's still a squeal when I start out cold. I'm really hoping that it only gets better over time. Question: in case the squeal does return, what are the brand names of pads that might be softer but don't squeal? I have no clue. thanks for all the suggestions!

so I just had complete pads, rotors and sensors- front & rear- replaced on my 08 CTT (44K miles). The brake sensor light had gone on and I had been driving with some major squeaky brakes for a looooong time (probably 1.5 years+) So I am thinking, boy, I cant wait to get new brakes and get rid of the squeaking. However, here I am posting this (after doing a forum search)- 500 miles after new brakes installed- crying about font brake squealing. The squealing occurs just when I come to a complete stop; just as I go from 5mph to stop. And its not a simple squeal. Its loud (and it sounds different from my squeaking brakes before the job was done.) I actually get embarrased when I am in traffic. So here's my question: before I drive back to my indie shop who did the work, what do I need to consider? is it the pads? rotors? what is the culprit? the repair guy did tell me that squeaky brakes may not be completely silenced after the brake job but this is ridiculous....I'm at my wits end right now. I could use some solid advice.

I'll jump on this thread and share a situation. I'm not a DIY so forgive my complete ignorance. I have an 08 CTT and the fuel pump just went out @ 40,600 miles. I guess I was lucky since I noticed the car didnt want to start right away and then when I was driving it started to lag when I gave it gas. I was literally a mile away from my 'dealer' so I ended up just driving it in. Is is normal to smell something awful when the car is stopped and turned off? How often do fuel pumps go out on the Cayenne? is it model specific? Appreciate any insights. I was also very lucky since I was just at the end of my CPO and Porsche covered everything.
