  1. as i am about to purchase an extended warraty for my 00 996, and now knowing that the rms issue isn't such a big deal; before i plunk down my hard earned $$$$$, how common have engine failures been? i can live with a $600+- repair for a rms, but an $8k engine from pcna isn't exactly chump change. as usual tia dave in nj
  2. tried warranty direct for my 00 996=ng no longer availble.
  3. A friend of mine has a 996 with door pockets. Having come from an 87 carrera, i certainly miss having them. My car is a 2000; anyone have any info on where, how, or whatever about these door panels with map pockets? btw---i have the grey interior
  4. get in touch with larry reynolds; carcarespecialties.com?
  5. was thinking of the pse---- eneded up with ghl mufflers. your welcome to stop by and listen. gem1@porsche259.com
  6. I got it through my Porsche dealer when I bought the car. I don't know how to contact em directly. how about the name and number for the p-car dealer?
  7. do you have contact info for repairmaster? does anyone have contact info on repairmaster?
  8. i wouldn't call 10-20 hp just a few. does anyone have any independent dyno test to show what gains what? don't mind spending $$$$$ on go-fast stuff, as long as it works.
  9. just to be on the safe side, if you are that concerned, i'd have a compression/leakdown test done. while this may or may not be definitive as to whether there is engine damage ( bent valves ) it might just give you the peace of mind you are looking for. on the other hand..........................
  10. if you are going to do trac days only occaisionally, leave it bone stock. invest in a decent set of tires and have at it. if it is a track car you want-----then the slope gets quite slippery.
  11. go to pca.com, follow the links to your region. local chapters usually have links to the local repair shops.
