  1. Pretty certain is goes to the Driver Identification Control Unit under the dash... But would LOVE verification!
  2. Thanks for the reply! With the new battery came new cables as well. So that should be good. However, I'd love to at least get this black wire sorted. I can trace it up behind the dead pedal and into the firewall area, but then nothing...! 😞
  3. Hey all! So I've been using this forum/thread to located a battery/starter issue. Quick backstory, 2006 Cayenne will act like the battery is dead sometimes. Can unlock door, turn key, (hear fuel pumps), dash lights up, but then 1 crank and it all shuts off. HOWEVER, if I take my battery jump pack and attach under hood, the started spins strong, and it immediately fires up. I've tested both 433 relays (good), starter is good (and coolant pipes have been updated), and battery is new (1 year old now). But when I did this wire loom exploration, I DID find a couple of the wires corroded. I've got them all sorted except one. This is where I need some advice. The BLACK wire that runs to the 433 relay (listed as "D") under the seat had a splice. I did a continuity check on it, and there was intermittent flow from the relay to just past the splice. I opened up the wire and its BLACK inside from the splice up thru the firewall. I am going to replace this entire piece, but can't seem to find where it comes out the other side. Any help would be appreciated! I know that since the battery isn't getting fully charged (we only use this vehicle about once a week), I am throwing all sorts of elec codes. Hopefully this will help sort some of these..! Thank you!
  4. Well, all the abs sensors looked good. So I decided to remove EVERY SINGLE FUSE in the car (Left dash, right dash, and trunk) and put them back in. Then scanned system, found a ton of codes, hit erase, and nothing but green checks! And its been almost 2 weeks and still good to go. Thanks for all the help! But this case is closed!! ?
  5. Thanks again Ciaka. No work has been done to the car in the past few months. We did have a crazy snowstorm we drove thru, so maybe something pulled loose...? I will get under it and see if anything looks out of place. Thanks!
  6. Dang... new gas cap didn't fix it. Well, it did for about 30min, and then came back on. Tried diagnosing the airbag light some more per your instructions Loren. Not sure how to follow with my Durametric, but added VIN where I could. This is still the code (attached pic). Maybe I can somehow clear the control module (like fuse #40 in our Cayenne)...? Still learning how to use the Durametric, so if I am clearly not doing something right, please someone let me know... ? Thanks!
  7. Thanks Loren! Got a new gas cap coming by the weekend. Also, checked the 4 seatbelts in the Panamera. The passenger side receptacle won't actually pop all the way back up when you press the red button. The seatbelt still locks and unlocks, but the red button only has pressure in the last 1cm of pushing on it. Can't find much info on opening up the receptacle to be able to clean it, but I think that is my next step. Thanks again!!!
  8. Got a few codes on our 2012 Panamera, including an airbag light. Decided to order the durametric enthusiast cable to do it right. My durametric was delivered today, and when I did the first scan, there were probably 15 codes. I did a reset, and only 2 showed back up. The ABS light won't go off. Gives me 25857 / 6501. LIN, short circuit to ground. Also the check engine light is on. Codes there are P0100. Evap Emission System Leak Detection Pump Control circuit low. Google hasn't been much help, and not a ton of folks playing around with Panameras elec systems on the forums, so hopefully someone here has a thought on clearing these. The only "work" I've done is swapping fuses. I had a blown fuse and decided to go check them all. Unfortunately, I printed the WRONG Panamera fuse details, and moved some stuff around. Now its all correct again, but thats when these two issues started... Please tell me I didn't fry something... The car runs and drives great like it always has! Thanks so much, Bill
  9. Great writeup! I removed the drop links since I was replacing them (and the sway bar bushings). What I found out is that the long bolt that connects the drop link to the strut won't go back in from the inside of the vehicle (like they were from the factory), and I had to put them in the other way. Not a huge deal, but if you are the kind of tech that likes to keep it 100% original so to speak, then you can connect the drop links to the strut before installing the strut. Anyway, thanks for the post and photos @911nick!
  10. Wausau 911, mine is the same way. 03 C4 with Aero wing. Supposedly only the right side is needed. Guess if you had a turbo tail (??) or something, you would need two, so Porsche made them that way.
