  1. I finally opened the engline lid. What a pain in the *** or hands. I peaked under the tail light but could not see any cables, it was clean and empty. I removed the right rear wheel and plastic covers but couldn't see the cable, there was another piece of plastic but it needed torx screws and I was too lazy so I didnt bother finding the emergency cable. It was probably under there though. What I did do was peak under the engine bay with a flashlight and I could actually see the actuator, I told someone to hit the engine lid button and the actuator was working solid. So I got thinking, if actuator works, pulling the cable would be useless since the emergency cable is connected directly to the actuator not the latch mechanism. I raised the spoiler, squeezed my hands around the latch and felt the loose cable link. Tada this was the problem. I then got some bicycle cable with a lead ball on the end and shouved it into the latch (tricky) once it grabbed I pulled hard and opened the hood. I could then see that the plastic clips holding the links in came off, i simply clipped them back in and it all works. How they came off beats me, still a pos design though... My terminology sucks I know, I'm not a mechanic but you should be able to work out how I fixed it.
  2. Unfortunately we don't have a dealership, I probably wouldn't trust them either (3rd world country). We have to do everything ourselves with our own specialized tools. I haven't checked under the wheel well yet (hesitant) but I know I will need to get to it eventually. :( its still looking so new, feels crappy inside to need to pull things off. :( We did try applying pressure while pulling the lever but the motor sounds like its for an RC car, very weak, unlike power windows with gearing. I will post a photo when or If I find it, I can't believe its been 2 months already.
  3. Thanks Loren! I was about to go fishing under the left rear tailight but it looks sooo tight :-D will take a closer look at the right rear wheel well.
  4. Greetings everyone, I have a little problem, I barely use this car and its a brand new 2014 model, after the first oil change the engine lid wont open anymore. When I pull the lever it makes a motorized sound, however it doesnt pop. Does it have an emergency release cable? My carrera 4 does... I lost the manual for the S, well mainly because i was an idiot and left it somewhere while in a hurry :-( Oil change was done professionally, I watched them, engine lid was opened then closed, thats all.
  5. I finaly broke in to my porsche, pulling door handle twice unlocks doors. How I got my hand in, well you need a drill, a big holesaw and your eyes closed. Cheers! Now I'm on to a new problem, wont start but I'll work it out. Hehe Thanks again.
  6. Yes I understand, thank you. So the sleep mode combined with broken manual key means locked out of porsche. I am planning to cut a small hole in the floor so I can reach in and stick the key in ignition. Your thoughts guys? Hehe
  7. Good suggestion but yes its fully powered, I even had an additional external battery to ensure full power. But no luck.
  8. Thank you very much for the responses, There are locksmiths around but they are good at cable linkages only, unfortunately this porsche has no cables. By pulling the driver side door handle it should open the door right? Most cars even if locked can be opened via driver side door? I thought I remember this car requiring me to push the button even when inside the car just to get out but im not sure. I did try removing battery in remote and putting a new one. Mijostyn if you could do that at your most convenient time that woukd be awesome. I totally trust porsche techs abroad rather than what we have hear. There is a porsche dealer owned by some rich guy but they will not entertain me due to the fact that the vehicle was not purchased through them and previous owner didn't get it serviced through them either. Even if they accepted my car which they strongly wont I would need to ship it to him since his located all the way up at our capital. Breaking a window sounds scary, I can order parts for the car but it wont be useable for a month as it will be via container ship. What is a slide? I can try bending that. I have thought of cutting a man hole through the floor, but it all sounds extreme to me. I need a good thief hehe
  9. Greetings everyone. I cannot enter my car using the remote, it is a 1999 carrera 4. It's been about a week since I last used it. Manual key does not work (its broken) Engine lid is open and so is the hood via emergency cable. The alarm went off as I used the emergency cable. I disconnected the battery and reconnected, alarm still on but I was hoping the central locking would re-enable. It didn't, so remote and manual key wont work. I have no manual key because the key cylinder seems broken, I cant use the remote because fantastic alarm decided to unsync with my remote after a week?. Pressing the remote makes the red led flash about 3 times. How do i break in to my own car? Oh why did porsche do this. I dont have a local dealer in my country, this car was imported. I have a sunroof, both windows are up. I know my way around the car, I do all the servicing myself. Is there anything I can do? :-( I don't know how a slim jim would work there are no cables with this door lock, I've removed the panel in the past, it's pretty much theft proof with slim jims :-( Please help me if you can buddies.
  10. Don't have a local porsche dealer - was hoping for unlock code for a CR 220 BE 4362 - Serial number W5003074 (serial from sticker on side of radio) :)
