  1. Guys could someone please help...can't believe how difficult it is to get any info on my beautiful 957 cayenne! So here's hoping right? As you can see in the photo, the right side rear light has got a few dead LEDs in the two top strips... Has anyone tried a repair or got any advice on this? Someone has gotta know about this! In the words of Sam Smith, I know am not the only one
  2. Any idea if I need a new motor or to take the mirror apart and clean something?
  3. I have a 2009 957 3.6l v6 Cayenne. The battery was dead a few days ago so I replaced it. It now starts up just as it should but when run a diagnostic it says the alternator voltage is high reading 14.72. I’m assuming I need to replace the alternator to remedy this. I can’t find any information about replacing the alternator. Has anyone attempted this? It looks like it might be straightforward but my concern is whether or not the intake manifold has to be removed in order to get clear access. If anyone has any insight on this I would greatly appreciate it.
  4. Hello everyone, Does anyone have or know where I may have the bolt torque specs for a 2008 Cayenne Turbo? I need pretty much the specifications for all the bolts and nuts that would be included in a block replacement. I'm getting the back rebuilt by 928 Motorsports and reinstalling with an experienced friend. However, it's nearly impossible to find the specs for these motors. Additionally, if there's a place where I could find a complete 957 workshop manual, could someone please advise? Thank you.
  5. Does anyone know where I can purchase the factory service manuals for an 09 Cayenne turbo, I did a search not coming up with much. Thanks
  6. I'm unable to connect to the engine module on my '09 Cayenne with my new Durametric cable. I called tech support for an assist and was told that they are still working on coding to allow for connecting the 957 to the engine module. The Durametric website does list the MED9 for V6 as being available for reading/clearing codes. Wondering if anyone else has found a way to get this to work. I'm using version 6 software.
  7. Hello, I recently bought a Cayenne S 4.8 from 2008. After a month the HPFP went down so I repaired that (900 euro), no problem if it is just a standalone incident but it seems to be very common for the 4.8 engines. Mine was already replaced with the former owner in 2010 and 2011. My engine was replaced in 2010 by Porsche and now this engine has around 100k kms (so the second HPFP failed just after a couple of thousand miles). This made me thinking about the build quality of the Porsche engines. The HPFP is not Porsche made I guess (Continental is written on it) but if "I would be" Porsche, I would look for another manufacturer for these parts. So I already got the impression that they are not as typically German as I thought. Then I got in touch with other Cayenne owners over the internet/facebook etc. And the first 10 owners (with a 4.8 engine) warned me for cylinder scoring because they all had their engine replaced or sold their car because of this problem. I knew the 4.5 had this problem but I remember calling a Porsche dealer a couple of months ago to ask if the 4.8 was better build and they said it didn't have any issues like the 4.5 had with the cylinder walls. So I checked again why my car had a new engine and indeed, also mine had scored cylinder walls at the time. Some people say it happens because of starting the car in freezing conditions but in Belgium, it doesn't get that cold like in Alaska or Scandinavia. I suspect just a bad build engine or the wrong use of materials for the cylinder walls. It would be nice to know how common this is on the 4.8. I am very interested in how a car works and why an engine can fail so I would like to know who has or had an Cayenne 4.8 (S, GTS or Turbo) and if you ever encountered this problem.
  8. Hi guys, I've been searching for a 957 over the last few months and I think i finally found the right car. The car is being sold through Shift.com and has a 200 point check. The reports look good, except for the minor cosmetic damages. I followed up with the service centers to see if the car is in good shape and everything checks out. One concern, is the mileage being around 50k. I was told that I should expect to replace the drive shaft over the next few thousand miles. Porsche service quote $2k for labor and parts--does that seem reasonable or would be closer to half of that at an independent service center? Also, this would be my first Porsche. Until now, I've been driving BMWs, so maintenance was covered. What can I expect in maintenance costs for 50k,60k, 70k?.. for you Orange County members, any good recommendations on an independent service center? FWIW, this car seems like a good deal with low mileage and no visible problems--at least to me. The more important question is, would you guys buy this if you were in the market for a 957? Any concerns? Thanks in advance! https://shift.com/car/c196617
  9. Why on this Renntech site are we calling the Cayenne a 9PA or 9PA! and not the designation I thought was appropriate 955 and 957? I know this site has dedicated Porsche enthusiasts on it who believe the only real Porsche is a rear engine air cooled.... Is this a way not to include the Cayenne in the typical Porsche three number designation? Just curious, not serious, I assume there is a good reason. The rest of the world seams to use 955 and 957.
  10. I am bit confused because 2 different Porsche Indys had different suggestions to the problem. My car, when cold after sitting 5-6 days when I get in and start it, it starts flawlessly. After driving for about 5-10 minutes to get to the grocery or gas station the car needs 2-3 turns of the key to start. Sometimes it starts with 1st turn (very rare when hot). Battery 6 months old, although it doesn't seem as a power problem. When the car was in for a PDCC line leak, I mentioned the problem to the mechanic who noticed it and told me next time we should clean the starter (don't know what that means). He asked 250 Euros for cleaning! wtf!!!!!!! I was passing by another reputable Indy which is 70km far from where I leave, stopped and mentioned the problem to get a second opinion and from what he felt, he told me close an appointment cause it might be something fuel related. P.S No boost leak, constant idle rpm, no reduced power or so, car runs great but I am bit concerned about the start issue in fear of getting stuck during a trip. Car has 125k miles, fully serviced in July 2015 (spark plugs, oil, belt, filters, etc) Any suggestions??
  11. Just purchased a 2008 CTTS and the previous owner is running a staggered set up Front:275/40/20 Rear:315/35/20. The current tyres Goodyear Wrangler F1 need replacement and I would appreciate some suggestions from the members here. -The 1st and expensive choice: P-Zeros at 1250 Euros -Continental Contisport SUV: at around the same price -And a guy at a local store suggested Atturos AZ850 which are at around 630 Euros. What do you guys think? Any other suggestions?? Thanks in advance
  12. Anyone knows what kind of steering wheel is the following?
  13. I finally got my Durametric in today. Plugged it in and the following fault codes came up. 0003- Upper Limit Value Exceeded 0103- Value Below Lower Limit Value 0303- Value Below Lower Limit Value Truck is a 2008 Cayenne S. 64,000 Miles. Truck is at a loss of power, changed the plugs and coils and still having the same. Anyone know where I can find more information on these codes,or know what the codes are? Thanks again.
