  1. My 2014 Cayman S with Bose has a right rear speaker blown. I ordered the part but can anyone point me in the right direction for its removal and reinstallation. I can't find anything on it. Thanks in advance.
  2. Hi guys. On my 07' CS (987) I need to change my CDR-24 to an aftermarket radio, so I have purchased the following Items as I wanted to have a try at fitting myself (as10yrs ago i used to install my own). Head unit - Pioneer AVH-8800BT Facia - Connects2 CT23PO03 Cable - Connects2 CTSP0005.2 From looking through the instructions for the CTSP0005.2 it shows that I need to connect wires for Speed Pulse/Park Brake/Reverse, does this mean that I also need to purchase the Paser UNICAN? r is there another way I can pickup Thanks
  3. I have issue with CR220 on 2002 Porsche Boxster Base, it didn't power on at first so here is the progress I made sofar - Read the blogs/youtube and removed the radio after purchasing the radio removal tool from Walmart (~$6) - Found the fuse behind the radio was blown (10Amp), replaced it with one from local auto store - now the radio is ON but prompting for **CODE**, thanks to Renntech got the code to unlock it - Entered the CODE now the radio seems to be working but NO audio !!! - Looked at the service manual and fuse details since some of the blogs pointed me to fuse box and the fuse for the AMP. - The 7.5Amp fuse was blown on the fuse box ROW D and Number 9 (D9). So while I am waiting for the fuse to arrive (from amazon) I - - had a 15AMP fuse handy and tried to insert it but there was a spar when I tried to do that !!!, guessing a short to the ground some where down the wires. - So started to remove Audio related modules from the front of the trunk. And found two Bose modules one seems to be the AMP big black casing with lot of vent holes. And there is another module don't know what it is. After I disconnected the wiring connectors from these modules I was able to insert the D9 fuse in the fuse box. So I am guessing there is something is wrong with the AMP or the other Bose module. Did you see similar problem ? What are these two modules for ? there 3 connectors going to these two modules. Any ideas on how to fix it or get it repaired (i don't know which one of these two has the issue or short)
  4. Edit: turns out there's an amplifier in the trunk, and each one of the six speakers has its own output. So that's how the Becker CDR-220, which has only four outputs, drives the six speaker system. Original question: I have a 2001 996 with six speakers - two dash, two by the rear seats, two in the doors. But the CDR-220 head unit has only four audio outputs. So I guess the dash and door speakers run off the same output? Is there a crossover hidden somewhere in the wiring or do they all get the same full-spectrum signal?
  5. Hi All, I'm just about to order a 2014 off the dealer lot and it doesn't have any stereo upgrades (no bose, no pcm, no stereo plius, just the 2x25 watts). I currently have a 987 that I'm trading in that did have the Bose. I love music, but this is what they got on the lot. I want to just add a simple self powered kenwood sub under the seat (sw11) or similar this year and then later on upgrade the door speaker and and a decent amp. I want to know if there is ANY way to get a line out from the factor head unit, as I want to keep that stock. I don't want to use a JL Clean Sweep as the audio is not that great out of it, I would prefer to come line out directly from the factory unit. Worse case scenario if there is no way of getting a clean line out, does the base CDR31 have aleat a non-digial analog output on the wiring harness that I can put a clean sweep gadget to convert the highs to lows. Thanks. Looked all over the web but cant find a wiring output for the cdr31
  6. Hi All, I have a 2014 981 Base (non bose and no audio upgraded). I have burnt a MP3 CD that work fine, I like to listen to my songs in Shuffle Mode. But I have the upgraded Sports steering wheel with no controls on it. I would like an EASY way to advance to the next song with the control bar (not sure what it is called or Stalk behind the steering wheel that controls the mini-display on the dash), Is there a trick with that control bar to advance to the next song in Shuffle mode? The only thing that seems to work is the next button directly on the radio itself. I'm worried it with break or wear out. Thanks
  7. Hi, I have a dension unit in my 997 and have 2 issues (I believe that the unit is a few years old, it was installed by the previous owner): 1. If I connect my iphone 5 to the usb port, it does not charge but behaves as if the cable or connexion was not functioning properly switching from charging to unplugged constantly. 2. If I connect my iphone using a jack to aux cable and use the aux entry, the sound is great but as soon as I plug the phone into the car's 12v plug to charge, a horrible noise covers the music. The noise is high pitched and increase as the engine rpm increases Any help would be great!! Thank you, Jonathan
  8. Hi, I have a 2004 Porsche Cayenne Turbo. After buying the car, I kept getting a error message of "error CD changer not available". I ordered a CD changer from eBay and figured that I could hook it up and be able to get rid of the error message. I have the Bose package with an amplifier, but only one fiber optic cable which is currently going to the amplifier. I took off the entire panel thinking that since it had the error message and CD changer bracket it would have to be in there somewhere, but to no avail. Is there anyway I could use a splitter for the fiber optic cable or even splice into the wires and try to run both off the same cable? Please help! I haven't even put everything back together in fear that I'll have to take it all off again. Thanks!!! P.S. Any link to where I can get the cables I need would be greatly appreciated
  9. Hi, I'm about to buy a 997C4S Convertible Tiptro. There is a phone system with Simcard tray, telephone and keypad. Is there a solution to connect my iPhone (ideally bluetooth) to use the address book, to call, and to listen the music, all on the system? If so I'd be happy to get rid of the handset unless it leaves holes. Many thanks
  10. I have a strange problem with a completely stock cdr-23 MOST audio system and I am not sure what to try to solve it. For a day or two after a rain, my driver's door woofer will pop when I open the door. I removed the door panel to see if the speaker was getting wet, but everything appears to be dry. I checked the amp, and everything appears OK there. Any suggestions?
  11. Hi I'm trying to trace down the root cause of alternator whine / rpm dependent noise in our 996 with PCM (1), and aftermarket amp & crossovers. I've already improved the grounding on the amp (some improvement in whine) and next on my list is the head unit. Can anyone provide the "correct" grounding of the PCM head unit? Other suggestions would also be appreciated. Thanks! PS - newbie member, sorry if this has already been discussed, my search didn't turn up anything addressing this specific problem.
  12. i am new to this forum and apologize if i am asking a question that has been previously answered. i have a 2007 bolster s with pcm 2.1 and standard (non-bose) speakers. the head unit has the newest discs but it is outdated and lacks several important features. i have bought a new pioneer avh 3300bt head unit (blue tooth, iPod, etc) and had it changed out. the installer tells me that he reused as many of the existing components as possible but the sound is poor due to "lack of cross overs/power" the new unit is driving existing door and dash speakers through original wiring and the tweeters sound very raspy. the dealer offers no advice other than "go to a professional" and the professional isn't sure of the next step. recommendations include disconnecting the existing tweeters (lowest cost), adding crossovers and/or new amplifiers. i love my car and somewhere, someone knows the answer. please help
  13. Quite a while back there was a thread: about a custom rear deck subwoofer box. While this sub box has disappeared, I was wondering if anyone still on the forum had one or had listened to it. I'm going to either build one of these, or a custom enclosure behind the seats. I may start with this one to figure out if it sounds good enough to keep. If I can squeeze it in, i'll probably use a 10" driver, I'm looking at a few that might work, otherwize it'll be either an 8" Dayton or Tang Band (both of which sound better than the Pioneer). It has the advantage of not having to create a two or three part fiberglass enclosure to replace the sound carpet behind the seats. The behind the seats enclosure would support a 10 or possibly a 12" sub - I'm pretty sure I can get about .8cf on a half panel. I'll probalby start with a single panel but I suspect installation/removeal will require that I split the panel - no way to know until I build it. The goal is to not lose more than 1-2" of seat adjustment - I won't know how much space I can give up until I get the new seats (Cobra Misano) installed. I'm 5'9" 29" inseam. Anyway - If anyone has info they can share I'd appreciate it.
