  1. Hi, just bought a (2010) 911 Carrera and have been unable to add my phone. The car finds the phone, but when I select it, it says the phone list is full and I need to delete older paired phones to add mine. I select a phone to delete and it says "delete failed"; I then tried to delete the entire list and I also get "delete failed". Is there another way to force this procedure? Thank you.
  2. I have a 2011 Panamera Turbo that has had the OEM PCM 3.1 Bluetooth system functional since day one. It worked fine until last week while I was in my car with my phone connected to my car PCM via Bluetooth and I happen to have another headphone device connect to my phone and it somehow made my PCM malfunction once I got an incoming call and now my car thinks that it does not have a Bluetooth module in the car? Any suggestions or recommendations are welcome. I have already taken it to my local Porsche dealer and they recommended to replace the whole PCM which in my book is an odd recommendation and not a solution. I would like to activate my Bluetooth service as it seems it might be a recoding scenario in the pictures i posted shows how clicking on "Activate Bluetooth " does nothing and says in a blue font bellow the screen that the "function not available"
  3. Hi Guys, I am a new member of this community and I am very happy to be here. My name is Mathias and I just bought my very first car. I am university student so I wanted a cool, sports car and as I live in Dubai, the weather is warm so a convertible was ideal. I have therefore just bought my first car, the Porsche Boxster, 2006. As this is my first car, and I have bought it as the 3rd owner. I have a lot of questions about how I should maintain the car, and hope you guys can help😎🏎 So first of all, it’s a Porsche Boxster in a beautiful red, with a black soft top, from 2006 that has driven approx. 80,000 km. it has a beige interior. 1) the paint inside the car has scratches and shows the black color under the beige coating. How can I fix this? 2) the speakers and radio signal is very poor and I want to be able to play music via Bluetooth and aux, is this possible? 3) is it possible to set up Cameras in the car, for parking? 4) there are scratches on the exterior, and I took it to the Porsche center, and they said they do not have a perfect match to this color as they don’t make it in this specific red anymore. Is there anything I can do? 5) the leather inside is looking a little bit worn, is it possible to fix this up? 6) lastly, is there any mods, DIY upgrades or accessories you recommend I to add to this 2006 Boxster?
  4. Hi Folks I don't know if this has been covered, but I recently bought a 996 C4s it has the bose system and a CDR23, it has a Dice 30pin iPod connector which as we know does not fit the lightning style connector, tried various adapters that did not work, so I ordered a bluetooth adapter which plugs onto the 30pin connector LAYEN i-Dock 4.0, cost £24 approx. Connection to the phone is easy and it worked without any problem in fact I would say that the sound quality is better as you can control the input to the stereo from the volume control of the phone. Only negative, which in my opinion is that the normal text you would see on your stereo just says empty station, but I can live with that. Positives, keeps the car original, I can hide the cable altogether the bluetooth adapter is very small and the car now looks original, I can use any phone that has bluetooth to stream my music. Don't have to put a new interface or stereo system into the car. Anyway this is day 1 will add to this thread once I have experimented a little more, incoming phone call etc. All the best Martin
  5. Hey! Just got my first Porsche, a 2009 Cayenne and love it! The bluetooth connectivity in PCM is killing me though. Can't get it to pair, not with iPhone 5 nor with a Nokia Lumia 930. My iPhone finds the "PCM" in bluetooth settings, I get to enter the code in both devices even. But after entering the code, I get "Connection failed". The other way around, PCM does not find iPhone at all when I "Search for phone". Is this an issue with bluetooth antenna or something, or could a software upgrade on PCM likely help? Bluetooth is enabled on PCM of course. The car has a SIM slot as well but I suppose that has nothing to do with this. I would like to make calls as well as stream audio to the car. Any ideas, others having faced similar issues?
  6. My aux button is not appears in the console. I clicked around and it appears that i have v1.4, how do i know if i need to upgrade? Also, how do you upgrade? I read around that it is worth it to goto 2.4 or 3.x? But how do i do it?
  7. Dear Forum, Preparing the (possible) purchase of a 997.2 C4 cab here in Europe. It has the PCM3 unit installed with 'extended' navigation. On the options list, there is no mention of 'Bluetooth' or 'phone', so my guess is that it is not present. Perhaps the forum can advise me on some related questions: What would be required to retrofit the original Bluetooth hands-free function? (I'm not looking for option to insert a SIM card in the PCM3) I found somewhere that this is not just a software update, but involves a module (the Bluetooth radio?). moreover, also the microphone would need to be retrofitted. Correct? The software upgrade likely needs to be activated - only available via the dealer network. Correct? I understood that there was (is?) an option with a phone cradle as well as one without, What is the option number 618, 619, both, or..? Other tips/suggestions?
  8. Hi i have 2009 c4s with pcm 3.0 no nav , i have been experiencing constant issues with the bluetooth , brought it in and out of good faith and 500$ porsche replaced the unit 2 times, after there head field tech came to the dealership the conclusion was made that all pcm 3,0 have a 48 second delay for calls to patch through or they don't come through at all . So basically if your on a call , walk to your car unlock and start it phone connects but there is no sound resulting to the other party hanging up , after that you try calling back and same issue until the third time if your lucky . So after 8 times at the dealership in 6 moths time not understanding the issue , the answer was clear all cars with nav don't have this issue and as the field tech told me 99% of cars sold have nav so we never really had this issue and there is nothing we can do but change the whole thing for 7000 + install and other little parts . obviously i am not going to spend 7000$ for it to work properly . So next is that porsche north america contacts me telling me that this is normal functionality of the pcm and that there is nothing more we can do and for all this inconvenience we will send you a 2000$ check . So i told her but you realize there is a issue that has slipped through Porsche hands and we have just discovered it, a flaw that nobody realized and that it just slipped through. I then told her but you have a fix and its replace my pcm with nav and everything will work fine , her answer was no and thats final ,so i asked where i sit indicated in the manual that cars without nav function this way ? she had nothing to say . Minutes later sending me by email a confidential letter that i need to sign and return basically releasing them from any further actions and for me to accept this as proper functionality of the pcm as Porsche specs . what to i do ? sue them ? take the money ? I'm sure if i contact stuttgart and ask if this is normal functionality the answer will be no. thank you MM
  9. Not been on this site for years - just got back to Porsche ownership - 2011 Boxster S. Only done a few miles so far, but it looks and sounds great, especially compared with my diesel main car. The original owner ordered lots of options, but not everything I would prefer. So, I need to know if it's possible / easy / expensive to fit the following: 1) Ability to disable / enable the passenger airbag so a child seat can be fitted from time-to-time. Is it possible to fit an aftermarket switch? 2) The car has PCM 3 (with extended nav) but no bluetooth, aux or usb. Is there a way to upgrade PCM 3 or is it best to have an after market system fitted? (Odd that these were options when the actual components cost a few pence!) Thanks for your suggestions
  10. Just finished (January 2014) an audio upgrade to a '99 C4 Cab. Thought I would document it for future reference. Inexpensive 996 audio upgrade.docx
  11. Hi, I'm about to buy a 997C4S Convertible Tiptro. There is a phone system with Simcard tray, telephone and keypad. Is there a solution to connect my iPhone (ideally bluetooth) to use the address book, to call, and to listen the music, all on the system? If so I'd be happy to get rid of the handset unless it leaves holes. Many thanks
