  1. I get that code on my 991-1 with my Durametric after showing up the "Coolant System Warning" in instrument cluster (Yellow). I cannot find out what is behind that code. I changed a temperature sensor in cooling system (behind radiator) because the graph (see attachement) show some implausible reactions, but fault code show uo after a short time again... Some guys said there could be a problem with one or more evap valves? Is anybody familiar with that issue? THX for your support
  2. Hi Guys I thought of changing the o-rings in coolant bleeder and order two o-rings small and large. But once I removed all the 8 bolts around the bleeder I got the cap our but I don't see where the o-rings go. I even doubted if I my Boxster has the o-ring type of bleeder. Attached are the pictures please help me get to those old o-rings if at all they exists in my car.
  3. Hi. I am putting together a project car (2006 C2S 3.8L) and have the radiators fitted except for a small item. My Pet diagram doesn't show how this part goes onto the radiator. Like most of PET it shows the parts exploded but out of context. It is a 997.106.453.00 it is some kind of hose holder. The second picture is this part 997.106.231.01. I don't know where it goes either. I was at the dealer in Long Beach this morning and they said that they didn't know how the item would go onto the car as they didn't have a 2206 997.1 to look at. Scary I know!. This tells me most of these guys are flying by the seat of there pants and the computer. Any pics of this part on the car would be quite helpful. Or a good diagram. Thanks

I have just finished installation of a new water pump, thermostat and coolant reservoar cap (OEM Porsche parts) in my 996 C2 Targa/Tiptronic 2002 and is now ready to do a vacuum coolant fill mixed to factory specs. When I read different instructions for manual filling/bleeding coolant system in a 996 equipped with Tiptronic gearbox they instruct: ” On Tiptronic vehicles, the pneumatically triggered coolant shutoff valve (flat-seat valve) must be opened for the bleeding process. The electric switch-over valve must be switched off for this purpose. Triggering can be performed with the Porsche System Tester 2 or by pulling out the Tiptronic control module fuse B-1 with the ignition switched off.” I can´t see this comment in any instruction for vacuum coolant fill. So, before i start the process my humble question is: Is this comment also relevant to a vacuum coolant fill on a Tiptronic car? If it is, shall the ignition be switched on during filling process? /Swedespeed
  5. Hello everyone, Just joining the forum here! I Just purchased and '05 Cayenne S with the coolant pipe issue fixed, and fresh service. I also gutted the stereo to get rid of the CD23 Bose stereo and subsequent fiber-optic connections. I now have two kicker amps powering the factory speakers, an alpine sub in the stock enclosure, and AppRadio! Awesome setup and couldn't be more pleased. I replaced the tires with 265/60/18 BFG KO2 All-terrains, and this thing kills it off-road (Southern Oregon). If anyone has any upkeep advice to offer, or common issues that I should know of, please let me know. Pictures are coming shortly. (Also: the stock Bose CD-changer, amp, and stereo face-plate are for sale!)
  6. I know this is a topic often reviewed here on the forum but I was looking for a little more help prior to just letting my local mechanic ream me for a few thousand dollars. Use the forum often, rarely (if ever) post, but have been far more active on equivalent sites for cars I've owned in past (Audi/BMW/etc)... Have an 04 Cay S, 87k miles, owner for past 16 months, probably drive 1200-1500mi/month. About 2 months ago, in traffic temp gauge went above 220 - i know it is very common for it to fluctuate in that 180-220 range but this was first ever time it went beyond. Was home about 1 mile later with no real issue. The next morning I got the "check coolant level" message, figured I could get to my mechanic 20 miles away and about 17 miles of the way there, got stuck in a little morning traffic and it quickly overheated, I sort of saw it coming so immediately pulled over and turned it off and waited for AAA. Shop replaced the water pump, coolant pipes (from the old plastic ones), flushed the coolant, etc. and for about 6 weeks all ran smooth, and even with being in some traffic never got past 180-190 temp wise. Over past 7 days its quickly become worse and is willing to fluctuate above 180 pretty quickly and certainly smells like coolant once parked. I have added to prior threads - 1) http://www.renntech.org/forums/topic/42289-coolant-smell-always-evrything-replaced/ - in posting #7, does anyone know what the part is in the bottom right of the diagram? almost looks like a filter? that is leaking - what part is that and is it a major reason for conern? 2) http://www.renntech.org/forums/topic/42643-ac-dryer-2004-cs/ - does this user's issue correlate to me at all? Thanks for your help!
