  1. Hi Guys, I am a new member of this community and I am very happy to be here. My name is Mathias and I just bought my very first car. I am university student so I wanted a cool, sports car and as I live in Dubai, the weather is warm so a convertible was ideal. I have therefore just bought my first car, the Porsche Boxster, 2006. As this is my first car, and I have bought it as the 3rd owner. I have a lot of questions about how I should maintain the car, and hope you guys can help😎🏎 So first of all, it’s a Porsche Boxster in a beautiful red, with a black soft top, from 2006 that has driven approx. 80,000 km. it has a beige interior. 1) the paint inside the car has scratches and shows the black color under the beige coating. How can I fix this? 2) the speakers and radio signal is very poor and I want to be able to play music via Bluetooth and aux, is this possible? 3) is it possible to set up Cameras in the car, for parking? 4) there are scratches on the exterior, and I took it to the Porsche center, and they said they do not have a perfect match to this color as they don’t make it in this specific red anymore. Is there anything I can do? 5) the leather inside is looking a little bit worn, is it possible to fix this up? 6) lastly, is there any mods, DIY upgrades or accessories you recommend I to add to this 2006 Boxster?
  2. At the 16 year mark, my leather is beginning to show its age, so I would like to use one of the dye products available to spruce them up. The problem is getting the correct color. I have always thought of my 2000 Cab as having the lighter of the two gray options. From browsing on eBay, I became convinced that Graphite Grey was the darker of the two, as it certainly looked darker than my leather in eBay ads. Unfortunately, the good folks at SeatDocs.com did not have a formula for a lighter, unspecified grey. At LeatherMagic, they have a Space Grey ... but it appears very dark ... certainly darker than my color. Finally, the tag under my hood says "CE" where the interior color code is located. I believe (but cannot recall where) I read that leather code "C" denotes Graphite Grey. So ... I am thoroughly confused Any help / enlightenment would be greatly appreciated. Kim
  3. Need some help finding a part number, and for the matter, the name of the part! The picture just shows the passengers side of a piece that surrounds the dashboard (I think its all one part, anyway). It's between the windshield and the dash. Does anyone know what this part is called and what the part number may be? This is for 2001 996 Carrera.
  4. Hi, it seems the sticker with vehicle information on my Cayenne is damaged. Was looking for interior color code, to buy perfect match touch up paint. In car sticker is damaged, on vehicle hand book information pack, there is no interior color code. Any one can help please?
  5. I have searched and searched this forum and the Internet but can't seem to find anyone else with my issue. Last week, I got in the car and the A/C came on full blast, but no air came out of the vents. I turned it off and then back on a few minutes later and it worked. It kept working the next several days and then it did it again. Now it has died completely. When I turn the fan speed to max, a tiny bit of cool air comes out, but I can barely feel it. The 2 A/C & Heat fuses are fine and there are no codes in the CEL. I have the classic foam in the duct issue and worry that it's clogged the fan, but I can't hear the fan starting at all, but I do hear the A/C turn on and some other electronic/mechanical noises when I turn the fan on or off with the controls. Does anyone have any idea what might be wrong? As a Floridian with 90+ degree days, your help is much appreciated!
  6. Okay folks I just picked up MY2001 C4. I have a mystery light and the lower trunk/hood release lights stay on after leaving the vehicle. The courtesy lighting all fades to black afet 30 seconds but these remain on after that until I lock the doors and then they go out. My question is is there a way to program them off? Or is there something I am missing??? Thanks in advance!!!
  7. Hi, i apologise for being a lurker and not really ever posting since i joined; but i have a serious issue right now :^( ive been DIYing most stuff for my car - pioneer nav - footwell lighting - seatbelt replacement - o2 sensor replacement etc etc. but this has me absolutely stumped. a few weeks ago the interior trim / lining of the sun roof came off while the sun roof was open. it basically got stuck above the headliner in the car; so after i closed the sunroof, i wasnt able to ever open it fully again. i tried to tackle this problem today and one problem led to another and this whole sunroof thing has me so frustrated. Basically where it stands now is; ive removed the entire ceiling of the car - center consol, headliner, sunroof, sunroof interior trim, motor, rails.. EVERYTHING, the reason for this was because after i unscrewed the sunroof pannel and removed it, the sunroof rails were not doing anything when i pressed buttons. i though there was something stuck in the tracks at first, but couldnt find anything. then i took out the motor to see wht was up and realized that the close button doesnt work but the vent button and the sunroof forward button do. they only turn the gears a few rotations before stopping. obviously because my roof is in the most extended positon (open) the motor only clicks and doesnt do anything when i press buttons; so i removed the motor to find that it can only rotate in one direction. what do i do??? i think its the **** programed circuit (the one with the NEC chip on it) thats got the problem. Any way to reset it; or to let the circuit know that the sunroof is already in the vent position and it needs to stop trying to make it vent more? p.s i broke the mechanism that lets me manually crank the sunroof lol. so thats not an option. ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! any help is appreciated, or even a service manual that tells me how the hell i re-build the sunroof. p.p.s my possible diagnostics: something stuck in tracks the computer that tells the sunroof what to do is wonky the close button is broken motor for some reason only turns one way pleaase help with solutions, or a service manual to show me what to do :(
  8. Hi All, I'm looking to replace a few worn out switches in the cabin of my 997 C2. I'm looking online to try to find parts (ie. hood and trunk release switch). What is the best supply source in your opinion, would you still recommend sunset parts for such items as well? Thank you, J
  9. I have a 2001 Carrera Cab. The rear piece that covers the pop-up roll bars is loose on the driver side. I have accessed an online repair manual that says to remove the interior rear trim behind the rear seat backs. The manual says to simply remove the two screws hold the trim panel and then "detach the auxilarry frame" (don't know what that means). Once the panel is out, I should be able to see the fasteners that hold the roll-over cover in place. Has any one had experience with removing this cover or the interior trim? Any help appreciated, Thanks j-mann
