A while ago, I had a Durametric scan on my 996 (1999), and during the Short Test I received fault codes 22 (Potentiometer right mirror Open circuit vertical) and 20 (Potentiometer right mirror Open circuit horizontal) under the Seat Memory section. My question is, where are these potentiometers, if I wish to inspect them for either being worn out or having a bad connection? I can manually adjust the passenger mirror with the mirror controls, it's just that the passenger mirror doesn't work with seat memory. I'm taking a guess that the mirrors only have motors in them and these potentiometers are probably in the modules under the seat or in the door sill, but I'm not sure which, and where specifically. Also, are these potentiometers tiny little trim pots on a circuit board, or some kind of larger specialized potentiometer component with a part number? Or does one typically replace a larger module for a fault like this? The closest thread I could find on the subject was this one: http://www.renntech.org/forums/topic/40724-seat-memory-function-issue/?hl=%2Bmirror+%2Bpotentiometer - but it appears his issue was fixed by plugging something back into a control module that was intentionally unplugged, and did not reference the specific potentiometers. Any more specifics or even links to circuit/wiring diagrams for this area would be great. Thanks in advance.

I see a few posts where people have listed the actual value they get via Durametric for throttle position sensors and pedal encoder potentiometer, but no clear reference to what the values should be. 2004 986S US 3.2L For throttle position sensor 1 at idle, I get .64 volts; at 3000 rpm I get .84 volts For throttle position sensor 2 at idle I get 4.37 volts; at 3000 rpm I get 4.16 volts For pedal encoder potentiometer 1 at idle .76 volts; at 3000 rpm I get 1.08 volts For pedal encoder potentiometer 2 at idle .38 volts; at 3000 rpm I get .54 volts proper values or no?? -
Hi Loren or anybody out there Vehicle: 2004 Porsche Cayenne S with over 114,000 miles. Problem: I am getting “PSM Failure - Workshop" message often immediately followed by sluggish gas pedal and ultimately slowing the vehicle to a point it is not moving. What I have done so far: I replaced a brand new battery yesterday just to be sure. But not result. I would clear the codes using Durametric, and after few miles (intermittent) the problem occurs again. Following are the Actual values From Durametric Engine section while pressing and releasing gas pedal: Throttle-valve potentiometer 1 = 15.23% Throttle-valve potentiometer 2 = 80.85% Pedal-travel sensor potentiometer 1 = 14.0% Pedal-travel sensor potentiometer 2 = 7.03% Potentiometer 1 voltage emergency air = 0.78V Potentiometer 1 voltage lower stop = 0.52 V Potentiometer 2 voltage lower stop = 4.4 V Throttle-valve angle potentiometer 1 Throttle-valve angle potentiometer 2 Pedal value = 0% Throttle plate angle load signal = 0% Throttle angle actual value = 0% Throttle angle nominal value (adaptation) = 0% Could you please help me understand what going on and direct me to any usful repair procedures.
