  1. 2002 C2 manual: Problem: when parked outside in freezing temperatures, oil leaks from the lower oil pump connector, item 7 in diagram below. When parked in a warm environment, it remains dry. Anyone had that problem? Should I replace the gasket #8? M96.01/02/03 Oil Pump M96.04 WWW.AUTOATLANTA.COM
  2. Started the vehicle this AM around 10 to leave and the idle starts dropping right away but slowly while in park. Drops really low, then picks back up. Does this a few times while I'm going OH****. Put er in Drive and the idle drops again. It dies. I start it right back up and if I gave it gas same drop then dead. I'm going to test the other fuel pump with fuse on primary pulled. Last week we had humming coming from the fuel pump but it went away. While driving last day or so idle seemed rough. I'll be looking for the tech writeup on the fuel pump tests.
  3. I have a 2009 997.2 PDK Carrera 2 and am getting a loss of power and this error code: 2510: Fuel high-pressure control - adaptation. Value below lower limit value I believe this means my HPFP is dead and am looking for the workshop procedure for replacing the high pressure fuel pump HPFP. I have looked far and wide for a DIY tutorial on this, but found nothing. My local stealership will do the work for $900 labor plus parts. I have sourced the pump for $850 and want to do the work myself. The pump looks readily accessible at the back right end of the engine, facing the rear bumper. I am happy to write this up as a DIY with pics if someone can forward me the workshop manual pages or procedure?
  4. The vehicle is a 2005 997 Carrera 3.6. I cannot find the part #'s for the 3 power steering pump mounting bolts. They are exposed after removing the power steering pump pulley. In the attached picture you will see 3 holes in an upside down U shape behind the triangular pulley mount. I tried my local dealer without any luck.
  5. Hi, I have a 2008 Porsche Cayenne with a a CEL for P2404. The car runs completely normal and this is the only check engine light code. The only information I found on this is: P2404 Evaporative Emission System Leak Detection Pump Sense Circuit Range/Performance Possible cause of fault - Insufficient vacuum (system has a leak or blockage) - Short circuit to B+ in signal line - Leakage diagnosis pump faulty (diaphragm or reed switch sticks, internal solenoid valve stays closed or is blocked) -DME control module faulty I was wondering if there was anyone with a similar issue or anyone with knowledge of a reported fix. If not, I'm a pretty good DIYer. Does anyone know how I should go about diagnosing this?
  6. Sending a feeler on the auxiliary water pump. This is the pump that is located behind the left (driver's) side inner fender cover. It pumps water for the heater, basically. I've noticed it getting louder and louder so I'm guessing it is going out. I haven't heard or come up with much on a search. There is a TSB to add foam tape to quiet it down and I did a home-grown version to see if that would help but it didn't. But it really didn't make this much noise before. I was curious if anyone had replaced one before so I can guess how much coolant will need to be removed. Once you get to the pump it's pretty straight forward. Part number appears to be 95557215002.
