  1. Hi, I hope someone can help. I just had my car painted and they disconnected the battery and now I have lost the radio code. this is the info I have found. I'm not sure how to go about getting it. Any help would be appreciated. Becker 1 type 4462 # Y5038582 24/99 Thanks
  2. Hello. This is my first time posting as this is my first issue with my 2006 Cayenne S and this is also my first Porsche. The vehicle had an aftermarket radio in it when I purchased it and I changed that radio for another one that supported Apple CarPlay. both units are made by pioneer and after looking at the backs of them it appears to be plug and play. I changed everything out and fired it up and everything was great. No issues or errors and the sound worked fine and calls worked fine. The previous installer used only twisted ends and electrical tape to secure the wiring so I took the wiring apart and used wire nuts to make sure nothing came apart while it was being installed and for longevity. After starting the car back up, I received a brake proportioning fault and an oil pressure fault and it told me workshop fault as well. I pulled fuse 40 as I heard it resets the system and plugged it back in. The brake proportioning fault is gone but the oil pressure fault remains. I double checked my wiring work to make sure that I was not missing anything and nothing had come back apart. Everything is indeed attached and plugged in. Now that I have finished my long-winded story, was this fault caused because I knocked something loose or because I left the fiber optic cabling unplugged for too long. I noticed that there was a red light coming from the input and of the fiber optic cabling a couple of times while I was rewiring it. Do I just need to reset this system using a better method or do you think something is wrong with it? Any help would be appreciated and I intend on donating to this forum and website as it seems to be a true source of knowledge and help for the DIY Porsche enthusiast. Thank you in advance and I look forward to your responses.
  3. Actually Loren….I did. And I really do appreciate your reply. if I read it correctly, Your wonderful post breaks down codes and applications of specific radios as based on people if they lose the code. The question I was posing to people was do I have the ability to swap in a newer radio into my 2003. They have the identical part number the only difference is my radio part number ends with the letter A and the one that I am considering swapping in ends with the letter G. My part number is 7L5.035.191A, I have access to part number 7L5.035.191G. I understand your post as far as codes go. What I was actually asking was if I swap the newer radio in, am I going to have an issue? Is it something that needs to be VIN based? Or do I literally have the ability to just swap the radio in and plug it in and all is functional.
  4. Installed a new alpine radio to replace my factory Porsche radio I kept the factory Bose sound system and the factory steering wheel controls still work! I think it looks pretty nice, very ecstatic about the new radio look. Easy to do
  5. I purchased a 1999 Porsche Boxster 986 about a year ago and I'm having a few problems with the electrical accessories. The top worked fine when I bought it, but now it won't work sometimes. The radio also turns on, then immediately off at startup, and it won' turn back on until a few minutes later either by itself, when I use turn signals, power windows, brake, or even just by itself. After the car is "warmed up", then it will stay on. Other things won't work right or not at all, such as the alarms for, ignition, door open, light switches, etc. The fuses are all fine, and I know the battery had been replaced right before I purchased it. I haven't checked the relay for the top, but I am about to do that now. I feel like there could be a single problem creating all these issues. Any help would be greatly helpful and appreciated!
  6. When I turn the radio on, all it says is 'wait'. How do I get to the 'code' screen? I have a type 4462 Serial # 15077232 What would the code be to unlock radio? Any help would be appreciated, thank you!
  7. Hey Guns, i one a GT 3 mk 1. it has Original Radio CDR 23And weites Protect. when i Check with PIWIS there is a Site with Radio Code which is now 0000. i Could change But have no Code. who can help me...i thought CDR 23 will Never loose Code
  8. Hallo , can someone help me to change frequence from CR 2200 from Asia to Europe? Warm regards. Ingo
  9. My CR-220 plays the FM & AM & Cassette, doesn't play the 6 Pack CDs. Faceplate does not display, all presets work, and equalizer. Is the problem in the face plate or radio? Will getting another faceplate work with this radio? Will it change the radio code.
  10. Radio "dead" after replacing battery. I HAVE THE CODES! (But no way to enter them) I see a lot of info out there about how to find your lost radio codes and whatnot, but that is not my problem as I have my codes. The issue is that after 1)having a dead battery, 2)replacing said battery, and 3)having the car sit unused for a week while waiting on a replacement coolant tank part, I NOW HAVE A DEAD-SCREEN RADIO AND NO WAY TO ENTER THE CODE OR TURN ON THE RADIO. I can see that other people may have experienced this phenomenon but I can't seem to find anyone with a published solution as everyone seems to digress into a discussion of where to find your radio codes, etc. I assume that there is some sort of arcane Porsche security gremlin at work here, and that I need to follow some other sort of procedure in order to get my radio to accept the code and unlock itself. But without the radio showing any signs of life at all, how do I get into this? Or is my radio now dead for no apparent reason?! (e.g., it was working just fine up until the dead battery and service work time-span). I hate to invest in a replacement radio until I can ascertain what would make it suddenly die(?) Never in all my years of auto ownership have I seen a radio just "go silent". So what's up here?
  11. I have a 2003 Boxster with the CDR23 radio and external amplifier mounted in the front trunk. There are two multi-pin connectors, a fiber optic connector and an antenna connector on the rear of the head unit. The display on the head unit in the car seems to be fine as the display appears to be working as it should. The problem is no sound out of any speakers. The problem was intermittent for quite a while as sometimes when I started the car I would have sound from the speakers and other times no sound. Sometimes I would be driving and the sound would suddenly just quit. Now there is no sound at all, but the head unit display still appears to be working ok. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might be the problem?
  12. I have a 2004 Porsche Cayenne S with a Becker radio and Bose system. I understand the radio is a PCM 2. The radio is a CBR23 E1. I had a Bluetooth adapter installed and now my radio immediately goes into PROTECT mode. I tried downloaded the unlock code from an internet service, but there is no place or time for me to enter it in to radio. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  13. I just recently put a new battery in my 2000 Porsche Boxster and now my radio is requesting a 4 digit code. It is a cdr 220 radio, Becker 1. Type 4462. And the serial number is y5043037. Please HELP if anyone knows how to remedy this. Thank you!
  14. I just bought a 2002 Boxster with the Carbon Interior convertible. The radio went dead and I need to retrieve the code. Can you folks help me? Here are the specs. Becker 1 Type 4462 Serial # 25013601 24/99 Car Vin # WP0CA29842U6253320
  15. I replced the CDR23 with Seicane Android HU. It comes with Canbus adapter and I purchaed MOST adapter with it to make it work with factory Bose amp. The unit powers up fine, but the MOST adapter needs to have power to work. Any suggestion where can I connect the three wires listed in the pic to? I assume the main socket that was connected to the CDR23 has power, but don’t know which wire is which. How easy would it be to get power from lighter adapter aux? I am planning to replace that lighter adapter with USB port for the HU as well. Thanks
  16. Hello, Does anyone know how to find the radio security code other than removing the actual multimedia console? I found this website here but not sure if it really works. My concern is when I change the battery (which is dying) how to gain access to the multimedia center again should it require a security code. I am the third owner and have found nothing written in any of the vehicle documents. Any advice would be appreciated.
  17. Can someone direct me to where I can find the radio code for a 2001 boxster s. Type radio 4462. Serial be446215061517. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  18. Here is a duplica template for the radio card Best regards, Basis_Radio_Code_Card.pdf
  19. I just changed my battery on my 02 4S and of course i my radio tag is missing. I literally have everything on the car minus the code. The porsche dealer is telling me i have to come in for a diag!!!!! An effing diag for a radio code lol CDR-220 Becker 1 Ser: X5029244 anyone please help
  20. Radio play when key is on. When engine is started radio stops. Will come on after driving a while. Changed ignition switch changed voltage regulator. Help!
  21. My aux button is not appears in the console. I clicked around and it appears that i have v1.4, how do i know if i need to upgrade? Also, how do you upgrade? I read around that it is worth it to goto 2.4 or 3.x? But how do i do it?
  22. Hi, I have recently had to replace the broken PCM unit in my 2007 Cayenne, I chose an AVH-X8800BT Pioneer head unit. I have used the following connectors: https://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/connects2-ctspo001-porsche-cayenne-2002-stalk-steering-wheel-control-adaptor.html https://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/connects2-ct27aa25-universal-twin-fakra-to-din-aerial-antenna-adaptor.html https://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/connects2-ctmultilead-2-universal-steering-wheel-stalk-adaptor-stereo-patch-lead.html?search=CTMULTILEAD.2 Everything works pretty much as expected, apart from the lack of reception. I have hooked up the blue aerial adapter wire to the blue / white wire coming out of the head unit, but it doesn't seem to make a difference at all. The blue white wire has roughly 12v on it when it is unplugged, and I can get a voltage back at the other end of the fakra aerial wires where they plug into the amplifier in the rear spoiler. Does anyone have any clues as to why it doesn't seem to be working? At the rear spoiler it looks like I have two amps, 1 on each side, the right hand amp has EXT, black and curry coloured connectors, the left side just has EXT. Has anyone got any hints as to how I can diagnose this? Just to confirm that the reception was working fine on the old Porsche unit before it died. Thanks Ned
  23. I have issue with CR220 on 2002 Porsche Boxster Base, it didn't power on at first so here is the progress I made sofar - Read the blogs/youtube and removed the radio after purchasing the radio removal tool from Walmart (~$6) - Found the fuse behind the radio was blown (10Amp), replaced it with one from local auto store - now the radio is ON but prompting for **CODE**, thanks to Renntech got the code to unlock it - Entered the CODE now the radio seems to be working but NO audio !!! - Looked at the service manual and fuse details since some of the blogs pointed me to fuse box and the fuse for the AMP. - The 7.5Amp fuse was blown on the fuse box ROW D and Number 9 (D9). So while I am waiting for the fuse to arrive (from amazon) I - - had a 15AMP fuse handy and tried to insert it but there was a spar when I tried to do that !!!, guessing a short to the ground some where down the wires. - So started to remove Audio related modules from the front of the trunk. And found two Bose modules one seems to be the AMP big black casing with lot of vent holes. And there is another module don't know what it is. After I disconnected the wiring connectors from these modules I was able to insert the D9 fuse in the fuse box. So I am guessing there is something is wrong with the AMP or the other Bose module. Did you see similar problem ? What are these two modules for ? there 3 connectors going to these two modules. Any ideas on how to fix it or get it repaired (i don't know which one of these two has the issue or short)
  24. New to the forum and i am having a difficult time navigating.I am not even sure this was the way to ask a question by posting a new topic... If not i apologize. I bought a 2002 boxter with automatic transmission and only 68,000 miles. First boxter and I know very little about the car. Had the car sit in the garage for a couple of weeks after the purchase and found it completely dead. The used car dealer that sold it to me changed the battery. Since then I seem to be having all kinds of annoying electrical problems. The key fob decided not to work any more-I replaced the key fob battery twice. Still nothing. My driver rear running light does not work, worked fine before -checked the bulbs, all are fine. So are all the fuses. My left front running light does not work either. Nothing major but annoying nonetheless. My other question is to see if you can get me the code for the radio. Was working fine of course till the battery removal. Previous owner did not write it in the manual... Following your radio I.D. recovery procedure I've gotten the following: Type 4362 and serial # 15004832. Hope you can help. Thank you in advance. The radio code is the most important item for me at this time. Have been driving the vehicle for about a month and absolutely falling in love with the car...
  25. 05 Cayenne base, standard original radio but wanting to upgrade so I can get touch screen bluetooth etc.... If I have the standard base radio, is that still a BOSE radio system (i.e. bose radio/amp, and MOST system?) I know I don't have the upgraded sound system but am not clear if I still have the same upgrade issues regarding the MOST system (seems like everyone refers to it as the Bose Most system or similar so does that mean the standard equipment is NOT-BOSE). Do I need the Most HUR 955 interface no matter what or is there a chance that the non-upgraded default radio does not require it? Thanks
