I am a new owner of a 2000 996 C2 cab with 75k miles. I started to change the rear brake pads today and saw that the fount side of the right rear wheel housing was covered in what appears to be oil. I removed the splashguard and found a vent or drain that had fluid draining out of it. I searched the forums and my manual but cannot find what this vent is for. I suspect if is for the convertible top housing above. Can anyone tell me what this vent is for and if the fluid is likely hydraulic fluid from the top mechanism or an engine oil leak? I am fairly certain it is not coolant. I have enclosed two pictures. The splashguard has been removed as well as the rubber baffle over the vent. Thanks in advance to anyone that can offer a suggestion. This is my first post on a forum of any kind so if I am not doing something right pleas let me know.
