  1. For anyone wanting to know how to remove the front and rear seats as well as the front driver/passenger seatbelts... this is the video for you! 😎 It was fun trying to figure out how to do this. Hopefully this helps anyone trying this. I would say removing the seats is 2/10 for difficulty, the side panels maybe 7/10 and then ultimately the seatbelts themselves a solid 5/10. Hope this helps! Should be more or less the same for the 996 and 997. Seats and Seat Belts Removal DIY for the Porsche 911:
  2. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the seat on a 2008/957 Cayenne which they can let me have? I’m trying to chase a fault where the passenger seat will motor up and down and the backrest will adjust forward and aft, but there is no response from the controls to move the seat unit forwards and backwards, or the four-way lumber support control. Thanks in anticipation...
  3. Hi I have just bought a gen 2 boxster and the silver plastic lever to operate the recline motor on the passenger seat was missing. I have bought a new plastic lever but I am not sure how to fit it to operate the motor. Looking at the seat there is a little white plastic recessed pin and if I push that with a small screw driver I can operate the motor and change the angle of the seat. However, the new silver plastic lever is flush, so if Infit it, it will not engage with this plastic pin, so will not operate the seat motor. Below the white pin is a square black plastic clip that easily pushes into the seat but looks as if it is meant to clip into a square hole in the silver lever. It is so easily pushed into the seat side that I cannot see how to fit it to hold the silver plastic lever on. It does not seem to want to come out. Is there a way of getting it out So that I can clip it into the silver lever before fitting the lever. So so my questions are: - should the white plastic pin stick out beyond the side of the seat ( ie is the end broken off?), or is there another part which goes between the silver lever and the white pin? - how do I engage the black plastic square clip with the silver lever to hold it on? I have a photo which would make it clearer, but the system says that I cannot upload it or my iPad, but it is not clear why not.
  4. Hi, I have a 2010 Porsche Cayenne base and the drivers seat has no memory, what parts do I need to upgrade my seat to have memory controls? Thanks in advance.
  5. does anyone know where i can get the nut that attaches the seat to the rail mechanism. one of mine is missing and the seat won't move correctly
  6. Hi all My 2002 996 coupe has a squeaking passenger seat when I push/pull the top or back part of the seat, including driving over bumps. I have half powered seats,,, the top/back is powered while the lower seat assembly is manual. The squeak happens when the top/back is in any position including up so you can access the back seats. Something must be loose, but my question is if there are any DIY instructions that I could focus on instead of trying to tighten every bolt and hex screw that I can access. It's pretty compact down there... Appreciated... Thank you in advance
  7. I took my 2002 Targa to Porsche to figure out why the car would not lock. After about $5K of various and sundries that I cannot remember (I want to forget) -- the car locks. But, at the end, the mechanic told me that they something was wrong with the memory seat control unit and that to get the car to lock, they had to unhook it. Now--I know all of these things seem to be tied together in a Porsche--so, at that point, the guy just put the seat in a middle position and I left with $5K less in my pocket, a car that could now lock, but a driver's seat that cannot be adjusted. He said something about how it could be plugged in temporarily to move it, but then the car wouldn't lock, etc. Argh! So---they quote me around $1500 to replace the memory seat control unit. Is this something I can buy and replace fairly simply myself? My backside is getting pretty sore. Thank you Michael
  8. Hi all, new to this forum and not big on posting let alone searching for the correct place to post this info. I have been searching for an age to find a seat to fit the rear of my 996 C4S 52 plate. I finally resigned myself to putting my 18 month old in the front only to find the seat I bought actually fitted in the back. For all people who have had the same issues look no further. http://en.recaro-cs.com/child-seats-details/recaro-monza-nova-is.html this also has isofix should you wish to place in a different vehicle. I'm very fussy when it comes to fit and don't like having to alter anything. This seat fits straight in no problem and very easy to use. I paid under £200 for mine from Baby Boom and it was delivered the next day. You also get a choice of colours. Please feel free to post in correct place if I have got it wrong. I know this has been discussed else where but I am busy and don't have time to trawl other posts.
  9. How do lubricate a seat? Mine seams to be drawing too much current.
  10. Hey guys. I am having an annoying problem with both drivers and passenger seat in my 02 996 Turbo. For some reason neither seat will go up or down. I can hear the motor run but the seat doesn't move. All the other motors work and move, it's just the up and down one that doesn't go anywhere. But the motor is definitely running.
