  1. I have a 2003 Boxster with the CDR23 radio and external amplifier mounted in the front trunk. There are two multi-pin connectors, a fiber optic connector and an antenna connector on the rear of the head unit. The display on the head unit in the car seems to be fine as the display appears to be working as it should. The problem is no sound out of any speakers. The problem was intermittent for quite a while as sometimes when I started the car I would have sound from the speakers and other times no sound. Sometimes I would be driving and the sound would suddenly just quit. Now there is no sound at all, but the head unit display still appears to be working ok. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might be the problem?
  2. Hello there, this is my first post here and I’m writing because of problem with my boxster. Today in the morning I’ve started my 2002 boxster and noticed strange sounds from the engine/ rear side of the car It’s a metallic, grinding sound like a loose piece of metal or something like that Sound disappears when you press gas and comes back once you loose the pedal, I don’t know if it changes while engine is warm Also, check engine light shown up yesterday, when I connected my BT OBD2 there was no error code. I came with that to workshop also, and they said it’s a catalyst efficiency error. I’ve had that error code a while ago, I’ve replaced mass air flow meter and check engine light disappeared. I think it might be a problem with maf again because I bought not the cheaper, not the original one, but why are there these strange sounds? I’m worried about this. Could it be catalyst this time? Or again should I replace maf? This time I’ll buy original one. here are two Videos I made Also I’m sorry if you can’t understand something, my english is not perfect. Thank you for all replies, I hope we will solve that problem together
  3. Looking for a sound upgrade to my 996. I like a deeper, more guttural sound. Based on videos of each, it seems the Fabspeed is more to my liking. That doesn’t mean the Fister sounds bad—because it doesn’t—I think I just prefer the Fabspeed sound. But, in all honesty, it’s hard to tell from a video. I’ve never heard either in person. I’m wondering who has experience with either one of these (or both) and looking for opinions/reasons why one might be better than the other. While they both produce great sounds, there’s a significant difference in price and benefits. 4. Hi my C4S (2003) has an intermittent issue with the console, sound and system errors, there are a few after market items the main one being and system to use ipod/phone which seems to have replaced the cd changer. My independent Porsche repair specialist has tested and looked at the wiring, replaced the Amp and the phone unit, bypassed the phone unit and the issue is still there. Today as an example I had to drive 60 KM , heavy motorway traffic outbound, Intermittant sound from start of journey but only quiet for short period second or two getting longer after about 45 minutes driving. Occassionally system error popped up “No phone, CD changer”. It also was intermittent when trying to play a CD on the console. On the return journey after 2 hours parked and switched off it was also intermittent more frequently and for longer say 10 secs. The console also twice went dark and seemed to repower up. Has anyone any ides what the issue might be or how to find it? Declan

Yesterday I was trying to put the phone card on it and it never recognive the sim. - Since my car is imported from germany will it accept the Poruguese sim card or it is bloked? Since I never cound put it to work at a sertanly point on the phone it apears something like emergency call that I click to start. After that and no call was done but the equipment keeps emmitinhg the emergency cal. I pressed the buton that we use to zoom the maps and make choices (as a enter) for several seconds and looks like the emergency desapear, but from that moment the radion nevver switch off as usualy when I remove the keys from the starter. - what to do to put it back to normal? I see I have a german manual for he pcm since i do not understand german is that a way that anyone could help me by pointing me where to get it in english or even spenish? thanks to you all
