I've recently purchased a 1998 Porsche Boxster 986 and I find it a great drive however the stereo is a little lacking with only the speakers in the dash. I've upgrade the stereo but I would like to add additional speakers in both doors and in the rear speaker shelf. Forgive my ignorance but this is my first Porsche and all this is quite new to me. Firstly, with the door speakers, can anyone recommend the best option for speakers that would fit in the door? Also does Porsche offer a grill for these speakers or should I just use what's provided by the speaker? Secondly, I recently purchased a rear storage box to install the rear speaker kit. Can anyone recommend the speakers for this as well as the centre sub-woofer? Lastly, would it be worthwhile to purchase an Amp or would this just be overkill? Many thanks in advance. -
While researching another problem with my Boxster, I noticed a company is advertising an oil fed intermediate shaft bearing kit, which seems to use a modified cover and a hose to feed oil to the intermediate shaft bearing.. the kit is here.. http://tunersmotorsports.com/?page_id=103 Has anyone installed it or know if it is any good? My old 986 Boxster had an upgraded IMS bearing installed when I bought the car, and I thought it was a worthwhile thing to do.. But was told the 987 needed an engine teardown to replace the bearing.. This kit seems to just feed engine oil into the bearing, which from what I have read would solve the problems with failure.. But really.. should this kit do the trick? -
Recently I have been thinking of an exhaust system upgrade for my 2005 997 C2S which I have been driving for quite some time. Can any of you guy help by suggestion on this issue? My 997 is basically standard apart from a set of BBS forged wheels. I am hunting for something that product nicer sound plus hopefully better flow and performance. Any experience and suggestions on where to shop, please reply. -

I have recently heard that there is an upgrade tiptronic gearbox oil/fluid available in the market which should give a better response for the Tip box. Does this really work? Have anyone tried before? I am interested to learn as I have realized that the tip at high revs seems not responding as good when compares to mid to low range revs. Thx
