It was recently brought to my attention that the heads of the wheel lugs in my car are 17 mm instead of 19 mm (factory lugs). Is there any problem with that? Is it possible that also the length of the lugs is not standard? I am going to get rid of the lock keys. Therefore I will need to buy 4 new lugs, if I keep the other 17 mm lugs. Any chances that lugs with same diameter and length, but made by different manufacturers, may have different weights , which would affect the wheel balance? Thanks -
If my interwebbing is at all correct, there seems to be some differences between the 955/7 and the 958 wheels. I know they are interchangeable between vehicles, but I suspect there's some difference between the backspacing and offsets. I'm trying to get some some proper and semi-aggressive AT tires fitting to my CD. While I know the OEM 255/55-18 tires will fit with no issues, I'm wondering if I can't get a slightly taller and/or wider tire on my rig. Having access to OEM wheel specs should help me in that quest. Can you point me to a resource for OEM wheels specs? Specifically, the 18 inch wheels? Thanks -
Hi all, I am curious about the estimated cost of a 4 wheel alignment on my 2003 cab. Any info would be appreciated. Also, is this something that can be done by most tire dealers, or only by P car garages?

I did my first track day in my 997.2 S, and am hooked. Next up is to avoid grinding down my street rubber, and move to DOT approved dry tires and wheels. I currently have 19" wheels on the car, but am thinking of going to "-1" or 18" wheels as there seem to be more tire options, and they are a bit less expensive. I've got the following questions: 1. What wheel widths should I be looking for? 2. What is the corresponding tire sizes? 3. What offset is 'right' and if right is different from 'acceptable' what's the range? 4. Any tire recommendations (folks at the track were raving about the Nittos)? Thanks! -
I posted this on http://www.6speedonline.com and haven't gotten any response. Im trying to decide on tires for my new wheel setup. I found this great wheel and tire calculator but Im having trouble finding some of the specifications. For instance to figure out if the tires will interfere with the suspension its asking for "suspension clearance". Its also asking for fender clearance and wheel well clearance? Dose anyone know this information? Im getting 20" x 9.5" in the front and 20" x 10.5" in the back. Every time I do a search for sizes the closest I come it people running 20" x 9" in the front and 20" x 10" in the back. I wouldn't mind running all 10.5 all the way around but I don't think that will work. 2004 Cayenne S Any help would be greatly appreciated. Hi, I need winter tires on my 1999 Porsche 996 Carrera. I found some used 19" (99736215602) ET57 8x19 front with 225/40r19 and (99736216202) ET51 11x19 rear with 255/35r19. My question is, will these fit my carrera? The owner have had it on a 996 Turbo (not 997 Turbo). Thanks :notworthy: -

Hi Guys, First post on the board. I bought an '09 Turbo S Cayenne in the summer and now that winter is approaching I'm looking to move to some all season tires (we have pretty variable winters here in KC, so winter tires are a bit of an over kill). There are no options for the factory 21's and I'd like to move to the OEM 19's but Porsche service is telling me that they won't fit over the calipers. Is that true and do I need to look at the OEM 20's or will the 19's fit? Thanks for your help! Jake -
Hi guys, I am a new memebr and have owned my Porsche Carrera C4S Cab launch car since April of this year. I would like some input please... I did not particularly like my lobster fork wheels so I found a set of 19" Porsche Classic II wheels locally. I was told by the individual that the wheels came of a 2010 C4S and are OEM original. I bought them yesterday but after careful inspection while cleaning them this afternoon, I noticed that there is a "Made in Italy' stamp embossed inside the wheel. I got concerned so I went on line and read that OEM wheels also always have the off set size of the wheel embossed on the outside of the wheel by the stem valve - mine do not. Can someone please tell me if I have a set of knock-offs? That is not what I wanted nor what I was told. P.S. the vendor is a very nice guy and swears he bought them from a Porsche dealer in California as original stock. Would really appreciate anything you guys can add...
