So, after having my local dealer's service advisor walk me through the process, I figured out how to change the light bulb on my halogen headlights, I figure I want to share the wealth: Tools Needed: - 5mm "female" hex socket - extension rod for socket - socket wrench - replacement light bulbs, mine was H7 Process: The steps I took was: 1) unscrew the plastic tab that holds the carpet to the side in the trunk 2) unplug the rubber round plug 3) stick the 5mm wrench socket into it and sl

I kept seeing people talking about having trouble getting the headlight out, especially regarding turning the 5mm allen socket, so I videoed it to try and show how it works when I changed a bulb last week. Hope this helps someone.

Here's a photo (below) of what makes that "pop" noise when turning the locking bracket during removal or installation.  The pop happens because the locking bar has to travel over the triangular peak in the "channel" of the headlamp assembly, circled in red in the photo.  That's the "cam" action mentioned by some writers.
