Soft top locking latch hitting wind deflector

Recommended Posts

I'm wondering if anyone might have any advice on weather or not the top latch hook can be adjusted so that it doesn't hit the wind deflector. When the latch hook hit s the wind deflector it closes the latch lock on the way down to the open position. Any ideas on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated

thanks in advance

I've circled (very faintly) the hook on the latch.... it's just about to hit the deflector. Sorry about the picture quality. I need to charge the batteries to get better focusing.

Mine comes close too, i would assume thats by design, if yours hits, then its likely you have a bent convertible top frame... You can always unlatch the top from the front of the car, then open it 1/4 of the way and then put the latch in the closed position which will lift the hook outta the way by about 1 inch i believe.

BTW, Abe986... very interesting point!.... ;)

  • 11 years later...

Hi,

I know this is a 11 years old post lol, but I'm having this problem now.

Any idea how to fix this problem?

I know I can open the top 1/4 of the way and then put the latch to closed position. But is there any real solution?

Do I need to change the whole top to fix the problem ?

Please help.

Thank you.
