How hard is it to fix an oil pan leak?

Hi. 'found a 928 for sale with quite a few things that need to be fixed on it. One of which is a leak from the oil pan. Is it as simple as remove a few bolts, clean, new gasket or sealer, reinstall. Is there anything else that needs to be removed? Do I need to drop the engine or anything?

It's not just a simple as dropping the pan to replace the gasket. There are many many other places these engine leak oil that is more common then the oil pan. I would have it looked at by someone experienced with these engines.

BUT, it could be something as simple and easy as tightening the 10mm bolts that hold the pan to the lower block(cradle). These bolts tend to work themselves loose since they have a very very low torque value which is necessary since they are tightened into aluminum which will strip out easily. Do your self a favor and have a PPI done BEFORE purchasing the car. It may well be the best $200 you ever spend on the car.
