Hi, I noticed some squeaking noises from the rear seats of my 2008 cayenne S and planning to remove them to fix this issue. Anybody have any instructions on how to remove the rear seats?. I have tried to search everywhere with no luck. Thanks in advance.

Removing

post-1-0-21585900-1363904036_thumb.jpg

1. Remove rear headrests and fold backrests 1, 2.

2. Unclip center bearing cover 3 (arrow).

3. Unscrew fastening screw 4 for safety bracket 5. Then remove safety bracket 5.

4. Fold backrest upwards 45°. Disengage backrest from center bearing (in direction of arrow) . Remove backrest at outer bearing 9.

Installing

post-1-0-23871600-1363904365_thumb.jpg

1. Clip any bushings 8 1, 2.

2. Position backrest at an angle of 45°. Push backrest onto outer bearing 9. Insert center shaft bolt of backrest 6 (in direction of arrow) into the center bearing.

3. Engage safety bracket 5. Screw in fastening screws 4 on safety bracket 5 and tighten to the specified tightening torque (15 ftlb. ± 1.5 ftlb.).

4. Engage center bearing 3 (arrow).

5. Fully fold up backrests 1, 2.

If you need to replace the bushings (pivot points for the seats) that is a a bit trickier - but can be done.

Did same. The outer bearing (9) has a plastic sheath/cover. mine cracked allowing the bearing too much play on the passenger side. made a lot of noise when someone wasn't sitting in the backseat. i used electrical tape to wrap the end of the bearing and create some cushion. also found lots of sticky stuff spilled by kids i couldn't previously reach/clean. squeaks & rattle solved. Thanks, Loren.

Oh great to hear that you have fixed the problem. I noticed an annoying squeaking noise around the trunk area. At first I thought it was probably suspension related as it was noticeable during turning left or right. So I had my friend drove me while I was in the trunk and found that it was coming from the back seat. I actually bought item #9 awhile back and will replace it soon.
