Weird *** tread wear! Yoko Advans.

Front left and right tires and one rear. It's like the outer edge is crumbling and tearing. I've never ever seen this before on any performance car. I do not drive very much to be honest. I'm a stay at home dad and I go to school and back and to the grocery store mostly.

Looks like the car needs a full alignment, perform this work in non loaded state, with a full fuel tank, and the correct ride height.

What are the DOT code dates on those tires? If more than 5 years old, make 4 tire swings, and buy new shoes to get the kids safely to education and Mac N Cheese.

Can't tell for sure, but possibly 27th week of 2012. So I agree with you, not that old. At least this potential issue is ruled out.

Well, 3yr warranty on these is good until 12-21-15. Original purchase date was 12-21-12. Tread depth must be 3/32" or greater. Hope I can squeak it and where on the tire do the measure? Not in the mood to shell out another $1300 today.

Went and saw discount tire, and the guy told me that I was taking corners too fast, and that this type of "chunking" is 100% normal. I told the guy of the seven or eight performance vehicles I have owned in addition to the others I've never seen a single tire do this in my entire life, this is my first set of Yokohama tires.

Anyone have a course of action they recommend?

I've had this problem too with Yoko's on my 928. make sure you have the correct pressures set and a correct alignment

Alignment was set this year. Pressures were within spec. Looks terrible BUT is it a warranty issue?
