Brake fluid reservoir draining.

I took the screen out of the brake reservoir in my 2004 tt, but I can't figure out a way to get my turkey baster down far enough to remove the remaining fluid.  How do I access the remainder of the fluid?

Attaching a piece of transparent flexible tubing to the end of the turkey baster might be an idea ?

I use a syringe like this with a white plastic straw from a juice box attached. It works really well and won't drip like the turkey basters.

There's a whole range of syringes with plastic tubes on Ebay for just a few £ or $.  I use one for taking our older power steering fluid and top up with fresh fluid.

Be careful with the plastic ones though as brake fluid can destroy some plastic from inside out. Not sure why but that's my experience.

 

The metal one I got is unbreakable :)

Why even bother?  We flush these systems almost daily, and we do not siphon off the reservoir first, the way the Motive system works it simply is not necessary, and more paint jobs have probably been ruined while doing this than anything else.
