Autel MaxiSys Elite vs Durametric Pro

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone

I'm out to buy a new diagnostic tool and I came into two options:

1- Durametric Pro

2- Autel MaxiSys Elite

The price difference between Durametric and Autel unit is big but in my case I have to get laptop or PC that support Durametric and this will bring the price to a range closer to the Autel unit. The question is what functions in the Durametric Pro that is not available in the Autel MaxiSys Elite?

Here is the Function list for the Autel unit:

I would get the Durametric, too. It is a bargain in my opinion. When I take my car in for work, the guys here love the fact that I already have the error codes for them. Seriously. And this is a very dedicated and excellent sales and repair place here in town.

Durametric.

I was actually going to get a small pc for dedicated use of Durametric.  I generally use a MacAir and a much larger Sony Vaio PC.

Instead, I partitioned the Mac hard drive via Bootcamp to enable me to use Windows7 with my Durametric.  The Mac now travels with me on most road trips.

I'm not sure if Durametric now runs on iOS, but no matter as I can run it with Windows7 my MacAir.

Check with the Durametric folks, I'm sure they will help you out.

ps: thanks for starting this thread.  I looked at my Durametric and noted an update available to 6.5.2.0.  I uninstalled the previous version, installed the latest, took about 2 minutes total time.

I picked up a Lenovo laptop for $250 specifically for my garage. It runs Durametric, my radar detector updater, and the controller for my Sonos speakers, one of which is in the garage. It also lets me browse this forum amongst others and Alldatadiy. I can wirelessly print to my printers in the house and so far it works quite well. I was trying to use a $100 tablet with. Single micro USB connector for charging, etc. but this was more trouble than it was worth. The cheap Windows laptop is a more useful solution.
