Its now about my old Cayenne S which is only in use sometimes. Already some years the car has frequent PSM failures. The shop replaced parts for thousands of EUR but the fault always came back.

I still believe this is a electric problem.

I opend the carpet today and replaced some wires which looked strange.

Next i checked some wires which in the past was connected with a switch (the use of this switch i dont now) installed in the steering wheel column cover. The switch was disconnected by the shop years ago.

I cant find out where this wiring is going to.  I take away the cover which is under the dash to check the are. Lots of wiring of course. Cant find which one is going up to the steering column.

while there i found a box. One side with a connection to many cables, other side just one black wire which is going to nowhere.

can somebody please advise if this is original or somebody messed up.

Your Psm problem is under your drivers side footwell and sidewell. I had this problem on my S. Replaced thousand of dollars in parts for a 5 dollar splice fix. Pull back the carpet and take off the plastic trim and start lightly tugging on some connections. My guess like mine the wires will pull in your hand. Cut/splice/fix repeat. I had e wires that did this.
