PSM Failure after radio "FIX"

Recommended Posts

All, I am new to Porsche and need some help. When I test drove the car, PSM and sport mode worked fine. The radio didn't work at all.

The shop did "something" to fix it or bypass the issue and now I have all of these codes displayed:

P1614:

Steering-angle sensor control module, no communication

Porsche Stability Management - PSM

C153:

Communication steering wheel electronics control unit (drive)

C141:

Communication PCM (display)

C153:

Communication steering wheel electronics control unit (drive)

I am completely lost on what to even look for when it comes to electronics. Can anyone point me in a good direction?

Thanks,
Tim

Welcome to RennTech :welcomeani:

The shop that did the radio has screwed up your communications link, take it back to them and tell them to fix it.

I wish I could but they are in Dallas and I am in KC. Is there anything I can do myself?

Yup, spend a lot of time and money trying to figure out what they did.

Obviously, they either disconnected or cut into something which led to this problem.  If you are going to try to fix it yourself, you are going to need a Porsche specific scan tool, access to a factory service manual set, and to pull the dash apart where they were working and start looking around.  This is not going to be either cheap or any fun, and I seriously doubt it is going to be quick either.
