A window regulator question

Greetings all, I've been a reader of this forum for years.  I finally got the break I needed and so I purchased a 2001 base, Tip.  It is at 115000+ mi.  Since I purchased it 39 days ago I've enjoyed 500 or so enjoyable miles. Its now my daily and it humps 25 miles a day not including the weekend runs.  So of concern right now is the passenger side window.  One day last week I opened it with the center button(only 1) at 6pm, then went close it up a bit as rain was about to fall.  It closed but then it came right back down as I was holding the button in close position.  Then it would not close for the rest of the night.  The next day at 5pm I tried again and it closed and I released the button quickly and I haven't touched it since.  During the period of it being frozen I could here clicking but nothing moved.  I assume I can use the window motor $$ for the new coils and MAF.


The big question is why is there such a fluctuation of pricing on the regulator units?  Is it in the quality?  Can I go safely with a unit under $100 or should a go with something close to Porsche part $$?  Thanks in advance and good luck always
