02 Boxster Airbag codes

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I've been chasing this airbag light for a while now. Replaced seat belt buckle with a new one, replaced passenger door airbag with one from ebay. Below are the codes from a snap-on scanner, granted its not a PIWIS tester but it gave me something. Had a more advanced scanner saying passenger door airbag which is why I went that direction. Any help is much appreciated thank you!

Try Durametric or PIWIS.

Porsche Boxster airbag codes for your model year car go from 1 to 88. And, anything that is 100 or higher is a bad airbag triggering unit.

When I have seen a (rare) airbag triggering unit failure is was always accompanied by additional individual airbag fault codes.

That's why I say try a different tester.

Also are you sure you got the correct airbag for your car - they changed (due to law changes) in MY2002. So if you have an airbag from an earlier car it won't likely work.

Okay, thanks Loren! I'll definitely get another scanner to check it and make sure I got the right airbag.
