Radio - no sound

Recommended Posts

Do you have an amp? If so, check the amp fuse.

Those amps have been problematic so if the fuse is good it might be a bad amp

Thank you Loren,

Well, I guess I don't the answer to that question.  is there an in-line fuse? I checked all the fuses in the footwell. All are good. I'll have to get the radio out again and check the rear. Maybe I mucked it up putting it back in. It was working fine before I disconnected the battery :>/

Is the amp built-in or a separate unit?

I'll let you know what I find.

Thanks for humoring me. I really appreciate your responses.

Yes, that did the trick! Thank you. There is one small thing, there is no sound coming from the speakers I fiddled with the fade and direction but nothing. Can you tell me if the speakers are fused separately on the 2001 Boxster? am I missing something simple? (The radio worked fine before the power disconnection). PS the convertible top motor has also quit. I haven't been able to troubleshoot that yet either. Feeling foolish:>)

Can you help with a radio code for  2001 Boxster? Becker radio CDR 220 Model BE 4462

Serial Number X5 031767

Thank you so much!

Peter
