Transmission linkage

Recommended Posts

I have a 2000 base Boxster with 5 speed manual transmission.  One of the ball joints on the linkages popped off. This caused me to limp home with only 3rd and 4th gear available. I popped the joint back on but I was wondering if there is a clip missing the holds the linkage in place? The linkage that popped off was at the top in the photo.  Its the one that runs vertical.  Does anyone know the part number for the clip if that's what is missing?

Thank you,

Scott

No clip, the plastic internals hold it on.  If it comes loose again, it is shot and you need a replacement.

I got the following numbers from a 2004 Porsche Katalog. When I searched using one of them it came up with a part number and shifter linkage kit which superseded the number I searched. The part number that came up is: 986-424-041-10

In the Katalog it's called "joint rod adjustable".

986 424 931 05

986 424 931 06

986 424 931 07
