Oil Change Instructions

Doesn't make sense to me. The procedure as discussed (Drain Crankcase/Oil Reservoir/Turbochargers/oil filter housing, Replace drain plugs with new sealing rings, replace filter with both O-rings (Little and Big), refill with approved oil) is all that is described in the Factory service manual. Not sure where your dealer derives the requirement...I can PDF you the pages from the manual if you want to question your dealer...

Where do you buy the little o ring inside the filter housing?? The new filter doesn't come with the small o ring.

Thanks

999-707-465-40 oring -- US MSRP $8.38

I lost the little o-ring that I had diligently bought.

Is it OK to go for the once?

If I do buy a new one - can I just pull the thing out and replace it without changing the filter or will the paper lip of the filter not be happy?

Incidentally, $8.38 for a commercial vyton o-ring (if we're lucky - it might just be buna-N) is ... best defined as amusing.
