  2. Ditto for me, also replaced the fan and it fixed the problem, there was a crack in the connector on the control unit on the back of the fan motor where the wiring harness enters it. Green oxidation was clearly visible once the fan assembly was removed from the vehicle. The quality of this expensive part is disappointing, shame on Bosch, V.W. and Porsche for not making this better. I have much older American and Japanese cars with more mileage with dual electric cooling fans that have not had any problems with the fans. The part number is 0130706202 by Bosch approx. CAD$520.00 not cheap!

  5. There are companies who can remove the security from the CDR23. These people are in the UK, but you can probably find someone in the US: Porsche CDR23 - DND Services Ltd WWW.DNDSERVICES.CO.UK Radio Code & PROTECT Repair Service Porsche CDR23 Becker BE 6612 As originally fitted to : Porsche If you are trying to fit this radio to a different vehicle, then you may find yourself with the Error message of "PROTECT".
  6. You can see it and feel if it has a too much play, but that is about it. You can use a pick to remove the rear seal which is highly recommended. You MUST however prep the engine as though you were removing it (locked at TDC, cams locked, tensioners removed, etc.) before pulling the rear flange to have a peek.
  7. You will need a shop with a PIWIS to re-code the radio (as stated above).
  8. thank you Thank you for you response. The dealership told me I need the VIN from the vehicle it came from. Do you know if there a way to get the radio working if I person doesn't have the car it came from anymore? Thanks for your help.
  9. It’s a 2008, so it should have the larger bearing...is it possible to inspect the IMS without splitting the case?
  10. You also did not read the Lost Radio Code FAQ... '"CDR-23 (or later): These radios do not have a security code - that is, not that the user enters. These radios are security tested on the MOST (fiber optic bus) system to see if they are the "programmed" radio. The radios are programmed and recognized by the car’s DME and can only be replaced by a shop with a PST2 or PIWIS. These radios will not request a code when battery power is disconnected."

Picked up a 2014 platinum (v6)with 60,000 miles looking to do some routine maintenance have seen the post on transfer cases so ordered some ravenel tc fluid and plan to do the change soon. what should I use on plug threads when reinstalling? also going to do oil change and brakes. do I need a new drain plug for the oil change or possibly just a washer or can I reuse the plug? brakes/ getting some squealing from the front. According to the maintenance records it is due for brakes. I just ordered front. I watched a couple videos and feel good about install, but confirming I need new wear sensors? Is it likely the rears need replacing also? Every other vehicle I have owned the fronts always wore out quicker but saw a bunch of porsche owners doing front and rear at same intervals thanks!

  15. Had codes read and it pointed to low voltage issues, as I said previously battery was replaced by Porsche last July. Put the battery on charge for 3hrs, starting voltage 11.4 volts and when charge was complete it was 14.4 volts. Started the engine and hey presto no 4 wheel drive system warning alarm which would confirm that it's voltage driven. This only started a week ago during the cold nights, I don't use the car every day and when I do it's only for short journeys. What's the way forward with this, should I buy a maintenance charger like a CTEK for example to use when the car is sat idle or is their another way?
  16. Reminds me of a neighbor I had as a kid, he was always yelling at us and we kinda hated the guy,, He would work on a Old Jaguar in his driveway,, when he went in the house we'd toss a bolt or nut under the car.. Yep we were kinda evil brats back then.. 😄
  17. The fact that the noise goes away when you move the pedal does indicate the Throwout bearing could be involved,, YOu probably need to get it in the air and use a stethoscope on it.
  18. Hi. I drive a 2007 3.6 base model with a black and awkward yellow LCD instrument panel model. (Non - US ) I desperately would like to convert this part to the one that you can see in the pic- the one with the huge color display in the middle. As I googled them they come from 955s. Would this color lcd fit to my Cayenne? Any programming or something required? What should I look for if it does fit - like a year or part no etc? Should it be from the same year Cayenne? There is the only one available in my country that I can find this part online on a website like eBay and the guy selling this claims that it would fit my vehicle.   20. Hi guys, I am really in a need of help from you guys on the issue that I have with my 2004 Cayenne Turbo. I really love the car and it drives like a dream...until suddenly: Noise from front RHS (driver's side) developed. Clicking noise could be heard and felt vibrations for all speeds, regardless of RPM...the vibrations is like riding the car on railroad tracks when reach 40mph. What has been done: 1. Replaced Lower Control Arms (RHS & LHS) 2. Reconditioned front CV joints (RHS & LHS). 3. Replaced front final drive bushes 4. Drained and replaced front final drive oil 5. Tyres are balanced and aligned. Checked the following: 1. Cardan shaft - carrier center bearing still good with rubber bushing intact (no cracks) 2. Sway bars bushings are good, gave it a good wiggle to check on conditions.
