  3. This is a truly awesome service! Becker CDR 210 Model R2896 Serial# T500119 Have been advised of the code but suspect its utter tosh. Attempted to enter 4 digit number (have the display CODE with flashing C) but attempt to enter the code results in it going straight to display Becker with <> arrows directly below I may very probably be doing something wrong but stuffed if I know what. Is there a particular procedure other than punch number in?
  4. Yes, moving the two switches about two feet so they reach the rear of the center console. Appears they are 22 gauge? All I can find locally is 18 gauge. Will that work for such a short distance?
  5. Never change gauge of wire in a circuit, it can heat at the junction where the resistance changes due to the size difference, if I was wanting to move the switch I'd use the same gauge ,, a barrel connector, crimp then solder lightly only in the hole in the center of the connector, you don't want solder to flow in to the wire. Most of the circuits in the wiring diagram are low current and trigger a relay.. May be exceptions. But that's what it looks like. if its a heavy circuit like the AC clutch, or a circuit ont eh load side of the relay I would put in a new wire..
  6. Andrew, Electrical is the least of my talents... but for whatever it's worth wire size depends on distance as well as loads. You're only talking about moving the switches 18"-24"? You would probably be ok using the same wire size, but to cover you self you bump up the wire size. If the roof actuator motor was on a relay then I don't think you have a worry to use the same size wire. My 2 cents... There must be a 'sparky' out there that can give you a yea or ney...
  7. Yes.....I bought the insert thinking that there'd be cups to fit it.............the ones I have (Yeti similar) are too large in the holder without the insert (20 oz size). I'm thinking there are probably some hot drink users out there somewhere, who've found something that fits.....going to start carrying the insert with me to stores and try on cups....😏

  9. Apologies if this is a dumb question, but I am working on a GT3 console delete and am needing to extend the controls for the roof and sunshade to the rear center console blanks. What gauge wiring would I use to extend? I think it might be 18?
  10. My 06 Turbo cooling is acting weird just today. At idle or slow speeds it's always on 180. On the highway it seems to warm to 190-200. Stop and it cools right down to 180. Today on rhe highway the check coolant came on and temps were 210 to maybe 215. Stopped, only took maybe 1/3 gallon to top off. Still seemed to run 210 or so the next 10 minutes to home. Idled and it dropped back to 180. Any thoughts on what's causing this?
  11. Hey there! We just placed a new battery and seem to be missing the code (rookie mistake) All help appreciated! CR-22 4367 X5017025 49/98 Thanks 🙂
  12. You’ve answered your own question: You unplugged the device and the drain went away; it is the device. As for living under the thumb of the insurance company, that is your call.........
  13. Welcome to RennTech There are four sensors, two ahead of the three way cats, two behind them. P1275 is for the sensor ahead of the three way cat on bank 1, and says it is aging out.
  14. I guess that you know you can remove that insert and that allows a larger cup size to fit.....
  15. Has anyone solved the problem of finding a mug or cup that will fit in the cup holder insert ? Store bought water bottles fit, but every/any cup/mug/ I've tried is either to large to even fit into the insert or if the bottom fits, it has a flare on it that prohibits it from fitting properly at all. Yeti and other brands are too large, and I don't want to worry about spillage, etc., with styrofoam cups. https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/qzEAAOSwklJa~cUU/s-l64.jpg
  16. Recently replaced o2 Sensor based on fault code P1275 reading. Code appeared today 60 days later. Could it be another sensor, if so, how many are there?
  17. Thanks. Saw the threads about keys getting stuck in. Didn't realize that was the same as keys that don't turn off the ignition. I guess it's all part of the same mechanism.
  18. I'd hate to drop this insurance company. I pay $9.90 a month, plus 1.6 cents a mile. I know I've exceeded posted speed limits numerous times in the Boxster, and have yet to be dinged. I've had the car and the monitoring device for 13 months now, and just dealing with the voltage drain for most of that time. I'm retired, and it isn't my every day car. I love it. I'm also afraid I don't have the skill to drive it in the manner it was actually meant to be driven. I'd be afraid I'd kill myself, or even worse, total the car. ☺️ I'm hoping the device is faulty, I've reached out to the insurance company to see if they'll send me another one. I hoped posting here, someone else would have stumbled across something similar.
  19. Porsche never published any information about rebuilding these engines as they did not want that done in the field. Jake Raby runs online and in person schools on the subject, and is the only source for printed material on the required torque specs, etc.
  20. An update on the project so far... The engine and gearbox removed and the heads are taken off. The inside of the engine actually looks a lot better that the outside (guessing the disintegrated oil-breather bellow had something to do with it). I did see that the Cylinder 456 head was missing a water channel plug which was lying next to the inlet cam... Is this a common occurrence? Also I would have expected to see a lot more water in and around the cams of this head but I could not see any? Any suggestions on a engine rebuild manual? The Bentley Service manual does not really cover any specific engine repairs...
  21. I need a code as well please. 98 Porsche 996 my friend didn’t give me the radio code and disconnected the battery. LOL CR-220 4362 W5009094 47/98
