  2. I have a Porsche Cayenne 2003 4.5s I recently brought new battery and reprogrammed new key now wen I put the key in ignition all lights work interior and exterior plus the fan but no ignition lights I have checked fuses there fine can anyone plz help thnx
  3. I hope someone here has experience with this issue and can help me solve it. I've done a lot of searching trying find info about this problem (assuming it even is a problem) and found nothing conclusive. I will admit my search skills probably hover around the 65th percentile... My 2000 Boxster S (low mileage, pristine condition) has a fairly quiet but very audible (even to my abused ears) high-pitched sound coming from the throttle body. This occurs with the ignition on but the engine not started. Perhaps it continues with the engine running, but since it is so quiet there is no way to tell. It is constant with the ignition on, warm or cold. Aside from this weird sound, the car runs great. Does anyone know what causes this? Is it a problem? How do I stop it? I can't believe it's normal... And based on the searching I've done, I should probably mention that I am 100% certain that the sound is coming from the electronic portion of the throttle body. It is NOT the secondary air pump. Thanks in advance for any help or advice, Mark
  4. What lubricant should be used for the door lock and the ignition lock cylinder? Thanks

  6. Hi, I spoke with them and they seem like a great organization and I’m impressed with what I see. I spoke with George and he was very helpful and patient. But I was hopping that someone could give me a review based on years of use. Does it hold up after years of use?
  7. Welcome to RennTech Suggest you contact Charles Navarro, owner of LN, he has been running one for several years in his Cayman.
  8. Hi, I am doing a rebuild and was wondering what the long term results are for a LNengineering 4.0 cylinder and piston kit. Is there a downside to going 4.0? Has anyone had any issues?

  10. Welcome to RennTech The S speedo face will not read correctly as your base speedo is calibrated to 150 MPH, not 175.
  11. I have a 99 base Boxster and want to change the cluster. I like the white background on the S clusters. Is there any issue in accurate readings of the speedometer? Mine goes to 150, S goes to 175. Thanks!
  12. Just went through this on my 01. Cracked cylinder head. There is a shop in Georgia called Hoffman Automotive. They rebuilt the heads to factory specs drilled and filled the crack and did stage 1 porting. $2250 total cost for that repair. Back in and running perfectly.
  13. Hi please can you help me with the code. It is a cdr 220 Becker type 4462 Serial number is 15003971
  14. Thanks. Unfortunately the screen won’t come on now to try it 🙈 hopefully it will and I’ll be able to try the code. Thanks again managed to get the screen back, and the code worked! Thanks again
  15. Hi Loren, Really appreciated. it works. Thanks, - asunmax Hello, Can someone help for radio code Becker CDR 220 type 4462 serial # 15006350 Thanks you very much
  16. Jeff, I concur. However, before I move in that direction, there are a few variables I need to address. It may be a few weeks to provide the results of the bore score scope. My purpose is I don't want to do a repair K$ range..I would rather send to Jake and have him do the entire engine and know I have all the possibles covered going forward. I appreciate your willingness to work with me on this problem and I will keep you advised.
  17. Hi all, 99 boxster. Removed and sent my injectors out for cleaning. Well getting them back in is a real knuckle buster. Is it safe to say by just lining the tips up and getting them in the intake and bolting the fuel rail down is sufficient? It seems they were more snug getting them out then they went in ….also goes for the rail side. Any tricks on getting the electrical connectors back on? If after closing it all up and turning the ignition to on position and hopefully seeing no fuel leaks will this mean I'm all good to go? Don't want to worry about a leak driving a month from now. Thanks v
  18. I have the same problem. But everything works if I just giggle the key a bit. Dealer told me very common problem and fix is to replace the ignition switch - 2 hrs labour plus parts - so probably around $500. I want to do it myself - where can I get detailed instructions on how to do it?
  19. Hey Boxster newbie here. I bought a 1998 Boxster with a completely messed up top. One of those situations I saw where the clamshell opened on one side and not the other. I had no idea how to even start tackling the problem so took the car to the dealer ship. The previous owner didn't stop bent the push rods for the top and the lid and the hinge of the clamshell. Was told I needed all 4 push rods and even maybe a new clamshell - $2,500 without new clamshell. I wasn't going to spend that kind of money and told them to covert it to manual, They were able to bend the hinge back so the clamshell closes evenly on both sides so at least I could get use of the top manually. The dealer spent about 4 hrs working on it - mostly getting the clamshell to sit properly and it looks fine now. One thing the dealer old me was the convertible light would be on all the time - regardless if the top was up or down and it sure is always on. Based on Kent's solution is it because the clamshell is just sitting there by gravity and not depressing the switch? P.S. Due to some info here and other places I'm going to get all the parts and replace everything myself - it seems doable. Just would like to understand the problem with the light not going off at all. P.S.S. The dealer gave me all the parts (bushings etc.) and all makes sense and I know where it goes except for this - I can see it in the exploded diagram but not really clear where it goes or what it does - plus there is only one and parts entry says - 2 recommended? (see attached photo). I'm confused can someone tell me where it goes. Porsche Connection Piece Item: 986.561.657.00 Description: Connection Piece (2 Recommended) Reference numbers: 98656165700, 986 561 657 00, 986-561-657-00
  20. As promised, no real module for window functions in durametric and no fault codes in any of the modules. However, I went ahead and ran "erase fault codes" in the two alarm modules.. Since the reset, the window have been functioning normally. Don't know if it is a coincidence or actual resolution. Will test it out some more and hoping for the best. Thanks everyone.
