2000 996 / High speed fan relay hack

I want to do the high speed fan hack to my 996. It's very hot where I live and I feel my engine could benefit from some relief while sitting in traffic.

What kind of switch would be appropriate? Can anyone show me what they have used?

I never recommend these types of procedures as I don't think they are of any benefit. I remember reading about such a hack on this forum so if you try a search it might answer your questions.

U can use any single pole toggle switch or OEM

i just used a small switch from checker auto and installed it down by fuse panel cover- very easy- couldn't figure out which oem switch to use that didn't need relay also- keeps temps right on left of 0 in 180 even in traffic here in always 88degree honolulu.

PhilipJ - somewhere I have a DIY that uses a Footwell lighting tip switch and relays to control the fans. I bought all the parts but have never actually installed them. It is nice because is maintains a stock look to the install. I will find the darn link and post it.
