Battery dead unable to open hood.

Recommended Posts

Not a quick solution, but try a cigarette lighter plug-in battery tender and see if it will charge the battery enough to at least open the hood.

I had removed the Positive cable on battery.Central locking was locked, therefoe I cannot recharge the battery. Is there any other suggestions?

Using the battery tender should still work -even with no battery.

Hi Loren I still need to get the hood open before I can jump/recharge the battery. Where will I connect the battery tender or did you mean a cigarette charger.

Thanks for the help in advance.

If the tumbler jams or falls apart (as several have) you will need to replace the whole lock and switch assembly with the new style. As I recall the part is about $200 (discounted).

I hear that the tumbler needs to be recoded. If so do you know if the key transmitter must be reprogrammed? Does the tumbler come blank or coded to my original keys? Do you know any one that cuts and codes these keys? Thanks again for the info.
