Locking doors with key

Recommended Posts

Hi;

Yesterday I'd try to lock/unlock my 03 Base Boxster with my key by the driver side door. Nothing happen both sides. With the remote, everything works fine but not for the manual process with the key. When turning key both sides I have resistance like my other car, the key doesn't turn freely. Can it be a problem between the tumbler & the lock? Can it be repair if I access it by the driver door?

Need help pls.

Thierry

Here is my investigation so far: Removed the driver door panel. By looking to att. PDF file it looks like the part that is RED circled is ended nowhere. Does it suppose to enter in a mosule and turn something? If yes, what is the best way to access the surrounding and see if I can re-route that flat section in the right plce?

Please confirm. See att. pdf

Guys; It's repaired. It was the extention of the key that goes to the lockking module that was out of it's wat. Was able to remove & re-install it the right way by removing the door handle.

Thank you all, specially Juniinc for providing an explode view of the driver door handle. That drawing was the source of my investigation. It was a 2 hours job, save me a lot of $$.
