I was going to do the same, even ordered the kit. Then I found A guy selling " the perfect cupholder" on the web. It sits on the floor and slides up under the center console plastic trim. It works great and I like the ideea of keeping the drinks on the floor mats and not right on top of the electronoics. Google it Porsche cup holder and you should be able to find it. I got two only using one. If you would like to but the indash kit or the cup holder I will cut you a deal. I think the in dash deal was around 100.00

What happened to the navigation unit?

You should contact Sky King. He will have all the parts you need for the cupholders. If not then there is a retrofit kit Porsche sells.

Do you have the smooth or raised covers for the switch holes?

Did it myself. Took about 1 hour total. This if for 99 and older with no PCM

You need the following part #s (number of item needed)

996 552 339 00 010 (1)

996 552 287 00 010 (1)

191 853 615 A (4)

900 143 076 02 (4)

996 552 351 00 (1)

'996 552 183 01 (2)

996 552 593 00 (2)

Some of the numbers were hard to read from the invocie but I think they are all correct

If you can get a copy of Technical information 911 (996) 8/00 6830, it will walk you directly thru the install.

Only tricky parts are 1. Send the AC lines to the left and then center, not to the right or they are too short and 2. the retaining frames are tough to hold in place. I used a small piece of tape finally and then screwed them in.
