bellows hose replacement

Recommended Posts

I have searched and i can't find anything on replacement of this hose. I got it out, but I am having a heck of a time getting it back on. The space is so tight! any suggestions??

Here is a picture for reference for people that do not know what I am talking about. It is the spring looking hose in the middle of the picture :help:

I replaced that hose recently on a 996 C2. I took the engine out to do it as other work had to be done as well. I've heard they can be done in place but that they are very very awkward to do. The Porsche tech I talked to said he drops the engines to do them.

did replacement without dropping motor. Total time took about 15 minutes once I got a tip from a tech at local Porsche dealer. here is the tip, don't use factory clamps. He told me to go buy a pair from local auto parts and the allow you to put the hose in place without the clamps being on the hose.
