    You are correct neither the Turbo parts list or Tequipment show a listing for the embossed armrest (only the leather armrest cover). Try emailing gert@carnewal.com as he sometimes can get special order items.

    I'll try to add this to my DIY section. Here is a quick version... 1. Remove the complete air cleaner assembly. Remove the hexagon-head bolt M6 x 34. Remove the hose clamp on the throttle body. Pull off plug from hot film mass air flow sensor and completely remove air cleaner assembly. 2. Remove the captive fastening screws (9 ea.), remove air cleaner. 3. Clean air cleaner housing and air cleaner cover. 4. Insert new air filter insert.

    Have a look at the Winter Tires and Wheels TSB (number 4440) in the Cayenne TSB section. That is what Porsche recommends.

    Without part numbers or pics it's hard to say. If you can post pics perhaps someone from the RennTech team (or Gert) can identify them.

    Yes, and no. On the older cars (pre MY02) it depends on the tire manufacturer. MY02 (and later) cars have a slightly different rear wheel opening and has been radiused back a bit. You can likely do this to older cars but it will require some repainting.

    Hmm... you lost me there. If you have a MY03 that came with 18" wheels then the fronts should be 8". (see the 911 Tequipment wheel table at the Porsche site)

    There are at least seven swaybars just for the front of a 996 depending on standard vs sport and 6 speed vs Tiptronic and 2WD vs 4WD and Coupe vs Cab vs Targa. All Turbos are 4WD and a Turbo Coupe weighs 500 pounds more than a 996 coupe. IMHO... If it did fit, I doubt it would improve the handling over a sport swaybar or an adjustable GT3 bar.

    As of TSB 4b/01 4440 Summer Tire and Wheel Summary Supplement (dated 3-5-2003) Model Year: As of '02 Additional approved tire makes for summer tires. Tire Sizes -- 295/30 ZR 18 Tire Make -- Michelin Pilot Sport N1 So, as long as your fronts are 8" wheels you should be okay for handling.

    For 10J x 18 wheels the "standard" size is 265/35 x 18. In MY02 when they went from 7.5" front wheels to 8" front wheels the standard size for the rears went to 285/30 x 18.

    RMS failures, yes there are some still - but still a very small percentage of total cars. Bearing failures are very very rare. For example, my MY99 has had one RMS leak at about 8000 miles and has been dry since. Porsche has improved the seal and the method of training dealers to install it. Furthermore, Porsche has provided dealers with a special tool that checks the crankcase halfs to make sure they are within spec - so the new seal will not fail again. If your engine fails the test - you get a new engine (so far whether you are in warranty or not!).

    Well, it might be best to have the whole car there so they can dyno tune to match your mods. But here is how you remove the DME. Remove the DME/Relay Support 2 cover. Best to disconnect the battery first then remove the 4 bolts on the metal cover and tilt up to unbolt remove the DME.

    If you have a CDR220 then you can not use the CDC-4 Changer. The CDC-4 Changer is MOST (optical bus) only and works with the CDR-23. You will need a CDC-3 Changer a mounting bracket and harness. I got my Becker branded (rather Porsche branded) changer with harness and mounting for under $450 from Continental Imports. The model is Becker Silverstone 2660 and is an exact replacement (except it says Becker). It takes about one hour to install and Jeff and I will be glad to help you... except most of our "work on cars days" in San Jose.

    :welcome: and thank you for your donation! All of the mating parts are the same (according to the parts list). If you are using an older DME (non-egas) I think you will be okay. If you are using a new DME -- I don't know what it will do without egas. Perhaps there is a switch in the DME software to turn it off? If not, you would need the older DME.

    Yes, either a 50/50 mix or for colder climates 60/40. The coolant is a special "lifetime" coolant that never needs to be changed (unless it leaks out of course). Well, the part list calls it "water reservoir" and normal practice would be to replace any lost coolant with a water/coolant mix.

    96 ft-lbs. You might also want to have them check the wheel for trueness. A slightly bent wheel can also cause shimmy.

    That is where the fuel filter is attached on a GT2, GT3, or TT.

    The order guide says "Sport chassis with more rigidly tuned springs, shock absorbers and stabilizer bars.". The rear shocks are the only items with a different part number from the "US Sport" parts. A green dot usually IDs a sport shock. I do not know what the gray dot is. Is that only on the rear shocks?

    It has been order guide option "CUP" (or sticker option M454) for as long as I can remember. Sometime Porsche refers to it as speed control rather cruise control.
