Loren,
Sorry for the redundancy with a second post but I just found this topic thread for requesting help with radio codes after I sent a separate message to you earlier. Below is the information in my original post.
Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.Hello,
I just replaced the battery in my 2001 996 cabriolet and I do not have the stereo code. Would you be able to help please?

Hi Loren. So, my radio says "wait". I disconnected the battery. Once for 2 hrs, then again for overnight. I even pulled it out and unplugged it... Any tips? Also, if I swap the radio for aftermarket while the stock one says wait, will it cause issues? E. G. Is the radio locked or does the lock come from the ECM?
Thanks for your help.
Clint

You have to wait at least 30 minutes before trying again." -

From what I can see in the photo it appears to be the oiled filter.

How did u fix u problem ?
A double beep means that there is an alarm fault that can not be reset. You need to read the fault codes for the alarm system to location the problem sensor or control box.

Before the 17 digit VIN numbers there was little information that could be gleaned from the VIN. Sorry.

Have you used a Porsche specific scanner to get fault codes?
If so, please list them here.

You might want to check that your Durametric is up to date with revisions. Also, it could be a bug in the software - but the only way to tell might be using a PIWIS tester.

Trying to get my pcm code for my 2000 carrera 911
From the Lost Radio Code FAQ...
"Can you give me a code for my PCM?
These units are manufactured jointly by Siemens and Becker, and the only place where you can get the codes required is from the dealer/OPC. The PCM’s require two codes, the ICS/Siemens code, and a Becker code. The ICS is the first code requested.
Sorry, the only place you can get a PCM code is from a dealer/OPC." -
Many times control unit issues can be fixed by re- programming that module. If that does not work then a new control unit will need to be installed and programmed to your car.
