  1. I am unable top close the convertible top on my 2003 996. The metal clamshell opens about 6", but the canvas top does not move. Any ideas?
  2. I am unable to move my driver seat recline forward. the switch does function recline back, up, down, seat forward and reverse. any ideas? or manual adjust?
  3. I have a 2003 911 C4 with 18” x 8” front with 52mm offset and 18” x 10” rear with 65mm offset. Will a replacement wheel 18” x 8.5” 45mm and 18” x 10.5” 55mm work? Street only.
  4. I recently had my front bearings replaced. Do I need to have the alignment re-done?
  5. I am trying to replace a broken grommet that holds the top portion of the Tension Rope on a 2003 911 cabrio. It has snapped at top of the Tension Rope. It appears to be removable and replaced with a new bolt. It also joins the roof frame at a pivot point. Please help@!
  6. Do the stock Porsche wheels have markings for the width stamped on them? I want to replace them with aftermarket wheels.
  7. I need to change the turn signal lamp. When I insert the tool to release the assembly, it will not turn. Any ideas as to why the mechanism won't turn, and how to remove the assembly?
  8. Recently, When i release the Clutch Pedal I get a snap at the very top of the release. Basically, just before I take my foot off the pedal I feel the pedal pop back. It has never done that before. Anyone else experience this? feels like something is catching then releasing at the very end of the travel.
  9. I have had good success using BrakeMotive. They are a seller on Ebay. I purchase their drilled and slotted rotors. Many of their options include pads. I prefer to buy just the rotors and purchase better pads like Pagid or others. Most metallic pads will produce dust. Ceramic pads don't, but do not have the best stopping power. I used the rotors on my 911 and my Boxster with excellent results. Here is an example. http://www.ebay.com/itm/350mm-FRONT-DRILLED-AND-SLOTTED-BRAKE-ROTORS-CERAMIC-PADS-2003-2010-Cayenne-/391322850683?fits=Year%3A2005%7CModel%3ACayenne&hash=item5b1ca8d57b:g:wN8AAOSwGotWiqMO&vxp=mtr
  10. Thanks Loren. The dash lights do drop out intermittently when I move the switch. I will get one ordered.
  11. I am having an issue with the Instrument cluster lights not turning on when I turn on the headlights. Sometimes the lights come on immediately, other times they do not light at all. Occasionally, the will also go out. Any ideas?
  12. Check under the driver seat. My remote top module plugs into the main connector there.
  13. Use the Porsche Gear Oil. Call Sunset Imports in Oregon. They are a Porsche Dealership.
  14. I was using a flash drive until I got the Iphone 6. It is much easier to select music, and has better feedback. It is difficult to choose music with the flash drive since it thinks it is a CD changer.
  15. A few things. Do you have the Dension connected to a 12V source that is always hot? What input on the Dension are you using? The USB input or the Ipod input? What specific device are you connecting?
  16. I recently replaced all the struts(Factory replacements) and new tires. I also had a nice alignment done. The car is tracking really nice except for some bump steer over small changes in the pavement. Any ideas on how to reduce this?
  17. It appears there is plenty of space for the taller tire. The clearance is approx. 2" now. the new tire will only raise 1/2". I am not sure why I would need a spacer?
  18. I currently run 285-30-18 on the rear and 225-40-18 on the front. I would like more tire choices. Can I change to the 265-35-18 on the rear? The current rear tire is slightly lower than the front by .4 " the new option would be slightly higher by .2" The width of the rear tire would be smaller by 3/4"
  19. I brought my 996 to the dealer to get the changer input activated for the CDR-23 head unit. The tech was unable to find the function in the PIWIS software. He also changed(by accident) the AM Tuner to a European tuning standard(tunes 9's instead of 10's). Does anyone know where the function is located in the software to fix both of these issues?
  20. Might be Ceramic pads. I used these people once and they required alot of push on the pedal. If you have clean wheels instead of brake dust covered wheels, change the pads.
  21. I am sure this has been covered, but I will ask anyway. Small bumps in the road will make the drivers door clunk. This is tolerable. The passenger door makes a loud squeaking noise. It is coming from the rubber on the upper door frame near the lock. I have tried WD-40, other silicone spray, degreasing the metal, etc. to eliminate the squeak. The last attempt was Gummi-Pflege. it is the rubber making contact with the metal frame. Has anyone had success removing this?
  22. Thanks Loren. I will try this today. I just picked up the 2003 C4 and am anxious to get her on the road.
  23. I am unable to get the top of the shock lowered enough to fit into the three holes after putting the shock in the lower carrier. It wedges in to the underside of the wheel well. The top needs to compress about 3 inches to fit.
  24. Loren, Thanks for the response. I am not sure what you mean. Are you talking about removing some suspension components? Do I need to compress the spring again with the shock in the car?
