  1. Now that you've had them in for 4 months, do you still find it harsh? How doe the handling compare to the stock springs?
  2. Have you talked to your dealer about the problems you are having? I have zero-delay. It is a very boat like feeling at very low speeds, but not when you are 40+, at least on my car.
  3. There is a fuse for it, but you will probably get a ! if you pull it. Why do you want disable it? It's speed-sensitive, and is a nice aid when parking, yet cuts off on the highway.
  4. Planning ahead, I called, and e-mailed local dealers for prices. My dealer offers a discount to us PCA members, but the parts guy wants me to pay $87 per tire more than Tire Rack. 10K service is $180, and claims I will need a $300 alignment if I change into snows (or any other tire)- without even looking at the condition of my current tires and $200 extra for mount, balance and valve stems for the new snows. Another local dealer will match the Tire Rack price, wants $249 for the alignment, $230 for the 10K service, and $250 extra for mount, balance and valve stems for the new snows. Another local dealer said to buy the snows from Tire Rack, wants $299 for the alignment, $400 for the 10K service, and $175 extra for mount, balance and valve stems for the new snows. Farnbacher-Loles will match the Tire Rack price, wants $175 for the 10K service and $120 extra for mount, balance and valve stems for the new snows. When asked about an alignment, they said they charge $250, but only if I really need it; they said that they only do an alignment if it is really needed, and asked if I was having alignment issues. When I said no, he said "we won't do one unless it's really necessary" and followed with "I haven't had to align my car in years" and "we don't want to waste your money if you don't need one." I had a nice conversation with Spencer at Farnbacher-Loles and decided to call PCNA to find out their stand on going outside the dealer network. I heard such a tale of woe that I am very concerned. I heard how my warranty could be voided if they make an error, and how non-dealers do not have the knowledge to care for my car. I like what Spencer at Farnbacher-Loles had to say, but am worried about my warranty.
  5. My dealer told me that starting with 2006 it is plug and play. I have the shelf and cables waiting in the back in my 06 955.
  6. I installed the supplied speaker in the passenger footwell- it sounds better than coming through the stereo.
  7. Do I connect the battery + or ignition to that wire, and where do I connect the other? Thanks!
  8. I just purchased the Motorola BlueTooth kit and I need to install it in the Cayenenne. I need to connect the battery +, ignition, and ground wires but do not know where I should connect them. Electrical is my weakness.
  9. Fabspeed web site states, "2ndarary Catalytic converters give major gains in power give the car a much Sporty & throaty sound. No check Engine Light & passes all emission tests. 10-14HP Gain." Since when is 10-14 hp a major gain? My V6 needs more power, but how can 10-14hp be a noticable difference in a vehicle this heavy? I could barely get a Ford Freestar off my tail today on the highway. The service manager at my local P-car dealership claims it will take an extra 40hp to make a noticable difference in my car.
  10. I have the 2-zone automatic climate control. I set said climate control to "Off" and then set the memory on my comfort seats. I heard the audible ding, and would expect my car to start with the climate control off next time I start the car; however, the climate control comes on at the lowest setting. This was described by my P-car service dept. as normal. What can I say? They are the experts(?).
  11. Just picked up the car from service. P-car service manager stated that it's automatic, and it is supposed to bring the car up to the temp even if I turned it off before shutting off the car. Technician said he re-programmed the head unit for me anyway- just in case(?). We shall see. Can any one comment on how their system works?
  12. So, when I get home and park in the garage I turn all of the accessories off before I turn the key and shut off the car. Next, I lock the doors so my kids can't get inside and play in the car. In the morning I open the garage door, get in the car, turn the ignition key to start the car, and my automatic climate control is on (sometimes). What gives??? It's a little too automatic!
  13. You must do an alignment, there is no way around it. My question is, has anyone gone to a tire store for an alighment instead of the dealer?
  14. I'd like to hear what they can do for us V6ers too, but do not want to be the guinea pig. How about that oil consumption- am I the only one who finds that disconcerting?
  15. Thanks. I removed the trim and removed the radio without use of those keys. I looked at the connector block from Becker and it looks like I wasted my time and money. The connector block they supplied does not connect to the back of my CDR23- there is no opening as it is taken up by the connector already in that block spot- it's a 1 piece connector with only a couple of wires installed. I'll call Becker in the morning and see what they have to say. Additionally, the other wire is supposed to connect to my mute trigger on my phone? What mute trigger? I have a Motorola E815. How do I connect to this product?
  16. I just received a kit from Becker/Harman for having the stereo mute on my 2006 Cayenne when the phone rings, and it came with 2 keys for removing the radio, but no description of how to remove the trim or what exactly those keys are for. I saw pictures of the radio in the dash without the trim, but there was no step-by-step instructions. Can some one please provide me with guidance? Thanks!
  17. So, I'll be driving the family cross country this summer and am interested in a DVD solution. I have used my laptop in the past (15.4" TFT looks great), and was thinking about cheapo 8" models for each of the 3 munchkins, but was wondering if anyone else had any other reasonable ideas. My dealer has the headrest screens for $3k, but it's just a few long trips a year- no movies going 5 - 15 minutes away. Take the screens out of the headrests and you have $125 portable players. Suggestions/experiences? Thanks!
  18. I have one of those cheap V6 models (as if $52k were cheap) and my car came with only rubber covered pedals and I'd love to replace them all with some nice aluminum pedals. The aforementioned ones that were installed by his son looks good, but I want a set that actually fits well with little modification. Do you guys have any suggestions?
  19. I just ordered the kit yesterday afternoon. What method did you use to get power off the fuse box? I am not into spending the$ for a kit and hope that the mic on the phone is worthy enough for the calls. Anyone hookup a mic without spending $200 for a blue toothkit? Thanks!
