  1. Broken relay? It's mandatory to replace relay when you replace the compressor, probably because it's a known fault. Relay is above foot-pedals, a bit difficult to find the correct one. I had a problem and my compressor run very often, at least once a minute. No leaks. Found the problem after a lot of work investigating this: A broken pressure release valve on one air spring. This caused one corner of car to be lower than the rest and compressor run often to try to raise the corner. Not possible when valve was broken. Fixed the valve with heat and problem solved.
  2. I had the same experience as you. It got worse after I installed the repair kit. After that I disassembled the whole compressor and found a lot of rust and water inside it. Springs were broken due to rust. I installed a complete new compressor => Problem solved. So my compressor was broken due to moisture due to saturated desiccant. Desiccant is too small and will only last for a few years before we need to replace it. Doable, but means disassemble the whole compressor. I have now installed a second air drier in my 2004, project described on Rennlist.
  3. Hi Wantet to post my DIY on this forum as well. Link to original post is here : http://rennlist.com/forums/porsche-cayenne-forum/917966-project-install-double-air-drier-for-air-suspension-compressor-on-a-2004-a.html#post13005067
  4. Did you solve your issue? I have the save fault, 2250, and a tilted car.
  5. Did you guys solve your issues? I'm having the same fault now on my 2004 : 2250- valve operating time exceeded. The car is tilted to the left. Both left springs are on the lowest setting and won't go up.
  6. Hi. Check page 1 & 2 of this forum thread. You are on page 3 now.
  7. Did you look at my pictures? Wire should be between pin just below stalk (a few centimeters, you will see the connector). Make a hole in rubber sealing in torpedo wall so you get the other end of cable to engine room (wiper-area). DME is on other side of engine room, so you need to get the cable to the other side. Or do as I did, find the correct wire and solder them together on drivers side.
  8. Hi all Finally got Cruise Control activated! China-junk was not able to program it, and did not want to spend so much money on Durametric. Booked a half hour at Porsche so they used PIWIS to activate it. IT WORKS! Yohoo! $35 in parts (from Poland and Norway) $130 for activating the function with PIWIS at Porsche workshop in Norway.
  9. Hi I have also got the 1772 error on my 2004. Bought the rebuild kit for compressor, fitted OK. But compressor was corroded a lot inside, and the drier-unit on compressor was wet inside. Compressor cylinder/parts was OK. Dismantled the whole unit, dried all parts, and assembled again. Still 1772 error. Another symptom is that it takes a lot of time to raise the car. Maybe 1-2 minutes from one level to a higher level. Compressor is working all the time during this process and I can hear it working. NOT silent. iCarsoft i960 shows about 220 degrees celcius in compressor when working. Can't hear any air-leaks after car is shut off (too much engine noise when car is on). What do you think guys? Faulty compressor? Thanks.
  10. Cables in harness, open it with a little force with your hands. DME removed, 2 big connectors below. The one to left is where pin A#38 is located. If you look inside the connector there are very tiny numbers with pin numbers. Locate #38. If cable is missing, you must connect the new cable here. In my car, the cable is in place (yellow/grey) There are two grey/yellow cables inside harness, we need to find the correct one. Use an ohm-meter to do this, use a thin needle in pin A#38 on DME-connector to get connection during this test. Remove a bit if the cable shielding to access the copper. I missed, so I succeeded on the second cable. Solder the new cable from stalk to the correct cable that goes to pin A#38 Insulate properly! Next part now is to program the car to activate Cruise Control. I have ordered cable and software from China, but that is probably only for reading, not programming. Maybe I need to drive to Porsche and let them activate it with PIWIS. Lets see how it goes. My goal is to do this as cheap as possible!
  11. Managed to connect stalk and the cable to DME  Here is how (sorry for my bad english) : Bought a Cruise Control stalk for VW Touareg on Ebay from Poland (about $20 - I'm from Norway, but convert to $ for you here) Bought this directly from Porsche for about $15 : 955 044 903 01 - wiring harness N 103 357 01 - pin 999 650 135 22 - contact bush N 909 068 01 - torx screws - (2 PCs!) N 910 207 01 - screw Total about $35 :king: FOLLOW THIS GREAT DIY FOR FITTING THE CRUISE CONTROL STALK : http://www.jackals-forge.com/lotus/cayenne/cruise/cruise.htm USE THIS GUIDE FOR REMOVING AIRBAG (better description than above) http://rennlist.com/forums/porsche-cayenne-forum/784624-pics-on-how-to-remove-steering-airbag-955-a.html For the cabling, this is what I did : New stalk for Touareg fitted Stalk connector where you must find pin #5 Stalk connector with pin numbers printed Release the smaller connector inside the big connector. Pin numbers are printed. Make cable ready with pin, and insert it to #5 Remove trim under dashboard above pedals. Easy, only 1 screw and plug for light and ODB-port Secure the new cable "under there" so it will not get loose or something. I lay it round a thick cable harness. Inside there, above the parking brake pedal, almost as high as the mirror, there is a big rubber seal that cable harness goes through. Stick a sharp metal "thing" through the top to make a small hole for the cable (I taped the cable to the metal "thing" and drag both through the new hole. This is from engine room, next to fuse box. You see the cable come through the rubber sealing. I opened the cable harness from DME, you see all the cables inside there. To the right in picture you see the new cable from Cruise Control stalk (Pin #5). I removed the lid on fuse box to get more access, but you probably manage without doing that also. Continue in next post.....
  12. Thanks! Will look for that when fitting the new cruise control stalk Everything cost me 400 NOK, that is about $50. Hope the programming will be in same price range
  13. I think the problem here is finding where to connect the wire to pin 5 on steering column. Anyone done this and can explain where to find pin 5? A socket somewhere? Regards
  14. Hi all When buying parts for the Cayenne it may be much cheaper to get parts for a Touareg. Do you guys know what parts of car are shared with Touareg?

  16. Hi Anybody have the Cayenne 2004 workshop/repair/service manual in PDF-format? Possible to "borrow" it? That would be very happy  Please PM if you don't want to reply in this thread. There are a lot of places on the internet to buy the manual, but don't know the quality of these. Have read people have had mixed experiences with these. The "original" should have at least 9700 pages. Best regards, Kjetil, Norway
  17. Hi Did you manage to fix the wiring? I'm about to do the same, but don't know how to do the wiring. If you have pictures it would be perfect! Probably many looking for this guide.
